Hello! I am currently a student going to college in New York. I am a psychology major with a minor in history. I have spent most of my life in the northeast part of the United States. Nonetheless, I have family all over the world and my parents have always instilled a deep respect and desire to travel and see the world. They have traveled and lived all over the world and I hope to follow in their footsteps. I am currently studying abroad in Sweden in getting to live and experience different cultures have reaffirmed my desire to travel and explore. I think it is such an incredible opportunity to grow and learn as a person and I can't wait to start!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I LOVE TO TRAVEL! If I could, I would probably travel whenever I'm not in school (or maybe I'd just quit school to travel). Unfortunately, as I'm sure we all know, traveling is expensive and I just can't afford to travel as much as I would like. However, Couchsurfing makes traveling so much more accessible for people like me who need the financial assistance. Couchsurfing allows me to remove one more expense from my travel budget. In addition to benefiting me financially, Couchsurfing creates such a great community. Everyone seems to be bonded by their love of travel. They just want to experience the world and help fellow travelers experience the world too with no ulterior motives . Traveling using Couchsurfing seems like the best way to meet locals that will help be to get the most out of my time and get an authentic experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

Honestly, I love most books, movies, TV shows, and music. If I had to choose I'd say Siddhartha by Herman Hesse is my favorite book at the moment. I am currently ready the picture of Dorian Gray and I am really enjoying that too. In general I like soft alternative rock music. At the moment I am really enjoying jazz styled rock and pop music. I love a lot of TV shows but I recently finished the entire Gilmore Girls series and I loved it! But I watch a wide variety of TV shows ranging from How I met Your Mother to Stranger Things to The Vampire Diaries. I really can't pick a favorite movie. It's just too hard. But I will say that I'm not a huge fan of crude comedies and I really can't handle secondhand embarrassment from movies

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went zip-lining above a rain forest canopy in Costa Rica! I managed to not pee my pants and had an amazing time. It will definitely be a memory I will remember forever.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm not sure I can say I am an expert I any particular field of study although at this point, I do know quite a lot about psychology. I do, however, love to discuss and debate a variety of topics. Really I'll discuss anything I have a decent amount of knowledge about. I love to play devils advocate just to keep an interesting discussion going and I love learning and understanding other people's point of view. I also love to tell stories, both made up ones and ones about my life and I love to hear other people's stories.

What I Can Share with Hosts

The best thing I can offer is interesting conversation and good company. I also been told I am a great listener and I really do enjoy hearing other people's thoughts and opinions. I can also cook and love to organize if such things are helpful. I can also play the cello but it is much to big for me to carry around when traveling. But if you happen to have a casual cello laying around, I would be happy to play for you.
