About Me

Wait! First off, I just wanted you to know that I have many references under my boyfriend's couchsurfing page because I have done all of my traveling with him. My profile is new and we always used his page in the past. :) Here is his link to check out our references!: https://www.couchsurfing.com/users/2388386/profile

Hi there! Thanks for checking out my profile. :-) I began traveling right after graduating from college when I went on a backpacking trip through Europe for 7 months. I was introduced to couchsurfing by a super cool guy at a hostel who told me all about it. I am so glad he did!

After Europe, I lived in California for two years and worked as the Director of an after school program and Manager of a pre-school, which was a cool experience, but now I am back on the east coast to be closer to family for a while and because I landed an awesome job at a nature school.

My job at the school is seasonal and gives me the opportunity to travel during the off season. It is by the far the coolest, most fun and most fulfilling job I've ever had. I get to teach kids all about nature, animals, health, hiking, team building, taking care of our environment and most importantly, how to be kind and respectful people.

PHILOSOPHY:

Just be kind to one another. You never know what someone else's life is like and you could really make a difference in theirs just by being kind. Can you imagine how different our world would be if everyone was kind to each other?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I absolutely love the idea behind Couchsurfing and what it creates for travelers. It creates such an awesome community and opens our eyes to so many different cultures and types of people. There is no better way to see the world than to make friends all over the place. :-)

I have only surfed, but I am excited to have couchsurfers whenever I have my own place so that I can return the hospitality and friendship!

Interests

Eating, cooking, really anything that has to do with food, movies and pop culture, reading, traveling, making friends, animals, nature, my nephews and nieces, playing games and having game nights, health and wellness, playing sports, being a good influence for kids.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not the most decisive person in the world, so it's always been hard for me to pick my favorites for anything. I do love The Hunger Games books and movies though. I also have a not-so-secret guilty pleasure of reading many other teen romance novels. Don't judge me.

Other favorite books include Eve's Mission, Gone Girl, Orphan Train, the Outlander series and Before I Fall. I will need to get back to you on the movies...

I love a little of all kinds of music....seriously! I know people just say that as a cop out, but every time I try to say I don't like a genre of music, I think of a song in the genre that I do really like.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my biggest accomplishments was hiking/climbing Half Dome in Yosemite National Park. It was one of the hardest I've ever pushed myself and the most beautiful places I've ever been.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share my time (was that a lame answer?), stories of traveling, I am also a great listener for other people's stories :-), I would love to cook for you or cook together, share my knowledge of health and nature.

I would love to learn about your life and what makes you the person you are today, your background, your hobbies, your favorite places in the area you live in, and anything that you would like to teach me.
