About Me

My name is Ana, but everyone calls me Anita or Ani. I am Chilean, I grew up in Santiago, but I did my university studies at the Universidad de Concepción 6 hours south of Santiago. After working as an engineer in my country, I decided that I wanted to travel and live new experiences, so I decided to go to Sweden with a WorkingHoliday visa. I live in Gothenburg more than 7 months ago, I currently work in a restaurant something I have never done before. The experience of "leaving the comfort zone" has undoubtedly been the best decision I have made for everything that I have lived, known, etc.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm here because something that reaffirmed this trip is the interest in meeting people, different cultures, and I feel that the best way is to get to know their people.

Music, Movies, and Books

In general I like all kinds of music, I think they all have something attractive. My favorite book is "One Hundred Years of Solitude" and I really like dystopian books like "1984", I am currently reading "Homo Deus, a brief history of tomorrow". I love the cinema, one of the best panoramas for me is to watch movies, they have marked me "Forest Gump", "Brave Heart", "Butterfly Effect", the only genre that I do not enjoy are the horror movies, they are not interesting for me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Leave everything in my country to leave it for the first time alone, a country did not know their language (Swedish), with a basic English, willing to work on things that had never done before and start from scratch.

Teach, Learn, Share

I like outdoor activities, such as trekking, my two most important treks are the Circuito de la O in Torres del Paine and "Dientes de Navarino" in Cabo de Hornos, an island located in front of Ushuaia. I enjoy cycling every day, the last year I have been practicing yoga, which I loved.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A nice company Willing to teach you about my life experience. I'm an engineer, so I can help in math if they need help.
