About Me

I'm a scientific mind with an artsy heart. I do scientific stuff for a living, but art is what keeps me going [and animals, for sure]. Photography and Music are two things I can't detach from. I fall more into the introspective and shy kind of personality, but I truly enjoy meeting new and interesting people with different backgrounds, and you'll see me come out of my comfort zone once in a while.

I'm a portuguese currently living in the UK as a career choice. You'll see me praising my beautiful country a lot, tough!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's a great concept and an interesting way to meet new people with totally different backgrounds but the same sharing spirit.

Music, Movies, and Books

My Music taste goes from the most classic or melancholic music to some of the heavy stuff, with multiple stops in the middle. Show me something that doesn't fit into the same old formula that gets the popular radios going and I will probably enjoy it. I'm unable to name favourits but I can say that the best concerts I've attended so far belong to Nick Cave, Eddie Vedder, PJ Harvey, Damien Rice, Sigur Ros, Angel Olsen, Massive Attack, Rodrigo Amarante, The Legendary Tigerman and Tiago Bettencourt.

As for movies, Dancer in the Dark, Detachment and Toni Erdmann can be mentioned.

When it comes to books, there's nothing like your own language - José Saramago and Fernando Pessoa get me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Moving to another country as a career choice. The first, impulsive, solo travel. Getting to know São Miguel (Açores - the most amazing place). Climbing one of the most beautiful portuguese mountains at night with an amazing starry sky above me and seeing the sunrise at the top.
