About Me

Hey,
I’m Ana and the last year I worked my way through France doing wwoofing/workaway and after that spent some time in Tamera, an intentional community in Portugal. By that I followed my longing for discovering new places, exploring foreign culture, customs and traditions, getting to know people from all over the world, improving my French and (meanwhile) I continued the process of getting rid of everything that doesn’t belong to me to find out who I really am deep down and to begin with showing all my sides. Now I’m back home in Germany - but as I can’t imagine anymore to not travel I’ll take some breaks from time to time and go somewhere else 😇

What I can tell you already about me is that I am an open-minded, interested, reflected, powerful and sensitive cosmic being (therefore a good listener!), having already quite some ideas about how life should be (for me) but eager to explore different ways of life to add everything I like to my view ;)

Getting in touch with inhabitants of a place seems to me the best way to get an authentic impression of it, to immerse myself a little more in the culture as well as to have interesting and enriching encounters which always make me learn more about myself.
That’s also one of the reasons I travel at all. Moreover, for me, travelling is about getting out of my comfort zone and being spontaneous. It’s about making decisions and discovering so much which makes me life and the world appreciate more every day.
So, I’m already looking forward to meet you soon and get in exchange!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the idea of the whole concept as I can‘t live anymore without travelling - there‘s sooo much to explore 🤗 - and this is a great opportunity to get to know people and to have the chance of discovering a new place through the eyes of somebody living there which is much more authentic, thus very enriching.

Interests

Dancing - now my passions are especially improvising, ecstatic and contact dance as well as Bachata, Kizomba and Salsa but I also used to dance jazz, modern and classic choreographies for many years, so I’m always up for a dancing session!!
Music in general - listening, playing the piano, singing, making music together
Writing – let it be a story, a long letter, my journal or maybe even an essay
Movement/sports/being active - I mentioned dancing but I also like to go jogging, swimming, hiking, cycling and more or less the most activities that include movement and…
…Being outside, especially in nature like forests, the mountains or near a river/lake/the sea, that’s just essential for me
People – meaning I really like to get to know people, I want encounter and exchange and I long for it to be appreciative, deep and authentic. Of course, I’m still up for having fun 😉
Cooking and baking including trying new recipes or just improvising and creating a delicious meal 😋
Theatre - watching as well as playing, both is just too enriching
Books – I used to read a lot and I love reading to others but now I seldomly find the time for it… so I worship it if I have a good book and the time to dive into it -

Music, Movies, and Books

Always not easy to narrow it down but here a few of my favorites to give you a first impression :)

Music(ians): Hans Zimmer (and film music/good soundtracks in general), Ludovico Einaudi, Dance Pop, Latin music and whatever I like to dance to (hard to find a genre for that…), 30 Seconds to Mars, Worakls, René Aubry, some French music and recently a bit of melodic Techno and progressive Trance

Films/Series: Cloud Atlas, Dead Poets Society, The last Samurai, Avatar, Interstellar, Inception, Me before You, Eat, Pray, Love, Whale Rider, Nausicaä of the valley of the wind and Studio Ghibli films in general, Anne with an E, Merlin, Sherlock, Lupin, Lucifer, Outlander

Books/Authors: The book of longings (Sue Monk Kidd), Winter of Fire (Sherryl Jordan), Tochter der Schwäne (Julie Watson), Momo (Michael Ende), Myths and legends (Greek, Roman, Nordic, Egyptian, Germanic, ...)
Jostein Gaarder, Cecelia Ahern, Jojo Moyes, Colleen Hoover, Ursula Poznanski, Marc Elsberg

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Spending eight months in France with wwoofing/workaway which made me discover and learn so much - about food, farming, woodwork, people, myself, gardening, cooking, …

Being (and cooking vegan, regional, seasonal) in Tamera - a community/healing biotope/eco-village/peace research center in Portugal with the focus on love & sexuality - for four months. Just incredible in so many ways, it made me realize/discover/get to know/develop/transform and I‘m grateful for that 😌🙏🏻

Teach, Learn, Share

I share/teach everything I‘m able to that interests you or with what I can perhaps help :)
I‘d love to improve my Bachata, Kizomba and Salsa skills - started classes a while ago (so I could teach you a bit as well) but I always long for more - and of course I want to level up my French.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I travel with my recipe book so every good recipe in there you’d like to have 😇 Of course, I will as well cook something for you out of it if you want.
My mother language or any other that I speak if you’re interested but most importantly a joyful time we create together with enriching talks due to being as authentic, open and honest as I can as well as having fun/laughing together and as I’m gonna be kind of part of your daily life I’ll support you there for sure (if you want/need).
