About Me

Hello! My name is Ana and I'm a digital nomad, journalist, and writer. I've been traveling all around the world since 2018—the best decision I could have ever made. I'm a vegetarian, a hiker, a biker, and a runner, and I love all things bookish. I'm always interested in learning—culture, languages, facts, ideas... That's why I travel: I always learn the most when I go out of my bubble and I experience life from a point of view that otherwise wouldn't be possible. I love meeting people on the road—and I treasure everyone who connected with me through this beautiful global community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While traveling, I'm always volunteering, house sitting, or surfing, which means I'm always connecting with people. From my experience, I can say this is the richest way to travel. More than handling a reasonable budget, this is the way to meet interesting, generous, and kind people on the road and learn from them. There's real magic in meeting someone who was born on the other side of the world, speaks other languages, has a different background, but somewhat, we have the chance to meet, connect, and share ideas, a meal, a cup of coffee...

I like to think I'm making friends in this community, and that in the future, when I settle for longer in the world, I can open my home and return for others the kindness I'm receiving now.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a reader for sure! Since my childhood, I've been spending a great time with books. (It's not really a surprise I ended up writing them too!) My favorite genre is women's fiction and book club fiction, thriller and mystery, and fantasy and sci-fi. I'm a huge fan of Harry Potter, and also authors like Marian Keys, Kristin Hannah, Liane Moriarty, Fedrick Backman, Cheryl Strayed, and others.

About movies, I like to watch romantic comedies and animation. I also spend a great time watching tv series, like Gilmore Girls, Chesapeake Shores, La Casa de Papel, Fuller House, Drop Dead Diva, and The Crown.

I'm a fan of bands like Imagine Dragons, Mumford and Sons, Maroon 5, Coldplay, and U2. I also like Katy Perry, Pink, James Arthur, and Ed Sheeran. I like to listen to different radio stations while practicing the local language and discovering the new songs people are listening to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

It's impossible not to mention being a 'global citizen'. I can say proudly that nowadays I live the life of my dreams—traveling and working remotely, meeting people from all over the world, improving my self-awareness, developing new skills... It's wonderful to think about the opportunities that each new day brings.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm definitely a bakery girl! I love to cook bread, cakes, pies, cookies, desserts, sweets, you name it. I've grown up on a farm around my grandmother, who taught me how to bake different kinds of recipes. So, if you want some help to cook something, or even learn some Brazilian recipes—like the famous brigadeiro!—I would love to teach you.
