About Me
Hey, I'm Ana! Life has taken me all kinds of places and I'm currently in Helsinki, Finland. I'm ready to explore, laugh, share experiences, dance, sing, paint, cook... I'm saving up to go to university and I'm hoping to study philosophy and politics. For a while, I worked in a kindergarten. Being around children taught me so much that reflected on my life outside of work. Patience and kindness to everyone, listening, not being judgemental, staying calm, and maintaining peace. I'm passionate about unity and building a fair world where we all can thrive.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy meeting people from all walks of life. As a child, I've traveled with my mom through Couchsurfing and have met truly special, kind-hearted people. We try to reciprocate as often as we can because it makes traveling possible. And we appreciate having that possibility too! It is always cool when someone who knows all the sweet spots shows you around or you get to share a meaningful conversation.

Music, Movies, and Books
In music, anything from Serbian traditional to Bollywood to Jungle goes. Of course, I went through a teenage grunge moment (still love it).
Mostly I enjoy documentaries although I love cartoons and occasionally terrify myself with zombie horrors.
I cannot, to save my life, remember the title of it, but years ago, I read a book about a young girl fleeing war with her family and getting separated from them. It left a lasting impression. I have a strange love for textbooks. My favourites are Biology and Global Politics.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This summer I found an abandoned newborn kitten and hand-fed her until I found her a surrogate mother. Taking care of such a young kitten is no easy task. By the end, I was completely exhausted but the experience taught me perseverance. The kitten didn't suffer a terrible fate in a Belgrade alley and is now a loved fluffy furball. ˆˆ
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach and share vegan recipes and cooking, as well as knowledge on plant-based vegan nutrition. We can sing and play instruments together. I play the violin and would love to get better at piano and guitar ...and the drums, and anything. Basically, I just love music so I'm ready to learn if you've got something to teach. :D Ask me about any language I know and I'll probably do the same.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Food, conversation, time, something from Finland. I can assist you with household chores, go to the store for you, write you a song...
