I am a student at the University of Foreign Languages in Bucharest, Romania. I am passionate about languages, literature and photography. I'd describe myself as an introvert and idealist, but also friendly, strong-willed and open-minded person.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I found out about Couchsurfing quite recently. I believe it is something amazing and I am surprised I have not known about it until now. The main reason why I am here is because I am studying for a semester in Sweden and besides finding a place to stay when I want to travel around Sweden I think it is a great opportunity to meet new people and talk to them. As a person who is studying Swedish it means very much to me to talk to Swedish people, practice the language and more importantly exchange ideas.

Music, Movies, and Books

To me is quite difficult to talk about my favourite music unless I share my favorite song. I mainly prefer jazz, blues, soul, indie and alternative. Some of my favorite bands and artists are the following: Foals, Damien Rice, Sade,Devil Doll, Etta James, Chet Baker, Blue Foundation, The Beatles, Son Lux, Hurts, Kongos, Banks, Rhye etc.

I try to read/watch books and movies as varied as possible. I am never satisfied with how many books/movies I manage to read/watch. It is also very difficult to decide upon a favorite movie or book.

Among my favourite books I could mention Jane Eyre, One Hundred Years of Solitude, The Joke, Crime and Punishment and many other. Milan Kundera and Gabriel Garcia Marquez are my favourite writers but I am also a big fan of English literature.

Regarding movies, Twice Born, Dogville, The Lives of Others, The English Patient, The Reader, Sunshine, Amelie, Read My Lips and many more are among my favorite ones.
