Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Above all else I strive to be a kind, intelligent and silly human being.
ABOUT ME
I currently live in a lovely house in the heart of Southeast Portland, OR, where I work full-time in early childhood education. I live with three other adult roommates, a seven year-old, five cats, two dogs, three bunnies, three chickens and a goldfish. In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my family, going to shows and art openings, exploring nearby hiking paths or just sipping on some tea while working on a crossword puzzle.
PHILOSOPHY
I like to approach situations with a loving yet critical mind, open-minded and humble enough to admit I could be wrong about almost anything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I am looking to meet new people and expand my horizons in all the new places I travel to.
Interests
Conversations! Especially with people that know a lot about things I understand very little about. I want to learn and share my own perspectives, and submit them to evaluation while doing so. I want to understand everything I can about this stunning universe, and especially about the human beings that inhabit it.

Music, Movies, and Books
The Brothers Karamazov is probably the best novel I have ever read, but my favorite author is hands down Hermann Hesse. I also enjoy reading lighter things and because of the field I work in, I spend a lot of my time reading children's literature and sifting through picture books.
I tend to gravitate towards silly TV shows over more serious shows that require more of an investment. One of my all-time favorite series is Father Ted.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Having the opportunity to travel through remote areas of Peru when I was eighteen really changed who I am forever. Visiting the Amazon Rain Forest had been a dream of mine since I was about seven years old.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been incredibly fortunate to be born into a bi-cultural family (Dad was Spanish, Mom is from the US). They understood the importance of introducing me from a young age to a myriad of different cultural practices (not just their own)and encouraged me to travel and read and learn as much as I could from as many sources as possible. Growing up in such a diverse and enriching environment had a profound impact on the individual I ultimately became, and I will forever be grateful to my parents for the opportunities the afforded me.
