ABOUT ME

Hello! I'm Ana. I'm in my late twenties and I make a feminist arts zine called Artificial Womb. I also do freelance writing work, do printmaking and painting, help out with exhibitions in small galleries, write and perform poetry, and am trying to write a memoir. I'm hoping to go back to art college and finish my masters at the start of next year.

I've almost been on Couchsurfing for a decade! Sometimes I've been really active (hosting and surfing) and some years I haven't really engaged with it at all.

I've found the Couchsurfing community to be a particularly welcoming and friendly one, with only a few arrangements falling through (and not in any detrimental way).

Being hosted by people who know where the artist's studios are or how to get to the nearest comic book store can be invaluable - since Google can only tell you so much about a city. No-one knows a city better than the people who live there.

兴趣

Being a creative person at the semi-professional level I'm at means that a lot of things that should be relaxing feel like work (reading books, listening to music) and so I bake and cook to relieve stress. I always want to hear about your latest creative idea though. I also play Dungeons and Dragons and watch a lot of The Great British Bake Off.

If you have a poem or essay you need someone to look over I'll happily do so. Let me know what level of criticism you're comfortable with beforehand though, because I can be a little harsh if not given prior warning (i.e. if you've never shown anyone your work before let me know, I remember what it's like to be unpublished and lacking in confidence).

I can also (probably) draw you a portrait.
