关于我
Hello!
I come from a very mixed background. I was born in Mexico before moving to the states with my family, then moved to France where I currently live and study. I have a tech degree in graphic design, illustration and publishing in particular. I'm currently doing a Bachelor's degree in the applied language arts at the University of Nantes, France. And I'd love to practice my foreign languages with you :)
我为什么加入 Couchsurfing
I try to find alternative means of accommodations when traveling, for economic reasons but also because I enjoy the more human approach of staying with locals that Couch Surfing offers. The best way to learn about and experience a country is to spend some time with real people, not just tour guides. And it's a great way to improve your language skills.
Same thing goes for hosting, I like to be able to share what I know about my city with travelers, and if you can save money on your stay, all the better!
兴趣
I have a lot of different interests; I'm really into the visual arts, that being my field, but I also enjoy cooking, horticulture, dancing traditional tango, fire poi and listening to music (all sorts, come share your favorite albums with me!).
I'm also really interested in languages and the finer points of linguistics, sociology....

音乐、电影和书籍
I'm getting into French literature quite a bit since moving to here. Some of my favorite contemporary authors are Emmanuel Carrère, Romain Gary and I'm reading up on some of my classics, Rimbaud, Victor Hugo, Maupassant among others. Otherwise I've really gotten hooked on Bukowski, Bret Easton Ellis and Edgar Allen Poe. My tastes vary quite a bit.
Movie-wise, I love everything ranging from science-fiction to old Hollywood classics, to international indies to Japanese animation, Miyazaki being of course my favorite.
I like a lot of different genre of music, most of it alternative. The strangest group I have in my repertoire is probably Sheena Ringo. That, or Boards of Canada. Strange is good!
我做过的一件不可思议的事情
Hmm, don't know if it's amazing but....
My sister and I once hitch-hiked from Nantes, France all the way to Spain along the Costa Brava, camping in the countryside along the way. We saw so many great places hidden away, and met a lot of interesting people on the road.
