Overview
About Me
Olá! My name is Carolina and I'm 26 years old. I am a young architect, born and raised in the outskirts of sunny Lisbon, deeply interested in people and how they shape and are shaped by cities. When I'm not emerged in my work, you may find me reading a nice classic book, visiting a new place in my own city I haven't seen yet or dancing to the beat of some background jazz tune.
I'm quite a perfectionist (I believe I am getting better as I age!), I do lists for everything all the time but I always cooperate with good last minute plans! I enjoy talking for hours about meaningful topics, sharing adventures or hipotetical future life plans...Plus: I'm a huge tea lover, I collect tea specialties from around the world and I like to share a cup whenever it's possible with some one who also enjoys it.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I always loved to travel and I always remember the chills of excitment it gave me to plan a new trip with my mom when I was younger. Backpacks and a selfmade travelling plans were always the way to go! After my Erasmus in Milan, Italy , back in 2016-2017, I discovered the beauty of Couchsurfing and of staying and learning from locals during my travels. I was also able to host some travelers at the rented appartment I shared with my flatmates, which made me discover the beauty of opening our homes to the world!

Music, Movies, and Books
When it comes to music I'm quite eccletic but my preference goes to classical, jazz (Frank Sinatra, Aretha Franklin, Nina Simone, Peggy Lee, Chet Baker, Lee Moses, Miles Davis...) and some good old rock and roll. Traditional music is also something that fascinates me as it reveals so much about each place and people!
As for books, I really enjoy reading, so I am often in between technical reads and a classic. Books concerning urban planning, history, psychology, religion and medicine generally strike my attention. Regarding fiction, some of my favourite authors are - as of now - Italo Calvino, Milan Kundera and Philip Roth, but I am always hoping to add new names to the list! Fernando Pessoa, a portuguese poet, also has my heart and deep admiration!
Movies: I enjoy old theaters and european movies best!
What I Can Share with Hosts
I belive to be a good conversationalist! I can also prepare some portuguese food for you to try and teach you some words in my lovely language. If you are interested in architecture and cities in general, we can share some points of view too!
When home, I may offer tour you around Lisbon and some travelling advice so you can discover the city in the better way possible. (Please note that I am currently back at my parents' temporarly, so I am unable to host right now. If you would like to meet me, send me a personalized message nevertheless, tell me a little bit about you and what motivates you to travel and to discover sunny Portugal. To know you read my profile, write "tea time" on the top of your request. We might be able to go for a nice walk downtown!)
