About Me
*** I prefer last minute or close to the date requests. It is hard for me to plan in advance if I could host. So if you send me couch request more than a week or two in advance I will either ignore you or tell you to ask again when it will be closer***
I grew up in a tiny lovely village in the north of Israel. I love nature and science, travelling and seeing the world...
I really enjoy diving. And I love to watch the stars in the night.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Great way to meet and help people, and bring trust to the world.

I really love acrobalance, though since I moved to Eilat it is harder for me to find people to fly with.
So if maybe you are a base I would be even happier to host you :)

General information on public transportation in Israel:
In general, there is NO public transportation in Israel on Shabat, meaning from about two hours before sunset on Friday to about two hours after sunset on Saturday.
This is not true for Eilat and maybe some other places, but the general rule is no public transportation on Shabat. There are places with special shared taxis that go on Saturday, like between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. They are a bit more expensive and they don't stop in many places. They go from the central bus station in Tel Aviv to somewhere in the center of Jerusalem, and they leave when full.
And another tip about going between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem: In Tel Aviv there are two places where buses leave to Jerusalem (and many other places as well), the central bus station and Arlozorov Terminal/Savidor Center/Tel Aviv 2000 Terminal (different names, same place).
I would recommend taking the bus from Arlozorov because it is a nicer place. The central bus station is not in a very good neighborhood and I would recommend avoiding it, especially if you are a woman by yourself and especially at night. The central bus station in Tel Aviv is very interesting and different, but not the safest place.
But if you come to Jerusalem with the shared taxis on Saturday they go only from the central bus station as far as I know.
Wifi: on long distance buses, on trains and at the Ben Gurion Airport there is usually free wifi.
Ben Gurion Airport: the airport is not in Tel Aviv. It is somewhere between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. It is very easy to get from there to Tel Aviv, there is a train (16 Shekels). Not on Shabat. To Jerusalem it is a bit more expansive - there is a shared taxi you can take (64 Shekels, but they will drop you where you want), or you can take few buses, or the train to Tel Aviv and then a bus to Jerusalem.
*** Update - there is a new bus from Ben Gurion airport to Jerusalem. Yay! Bus number 485, every hour (not on Shabat), 16 Shekels. ****
Getting to Eilat: there are buses to Eilat from Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, Beesheba and more. Normally you don't need (and cannot) buy a ticket in advance for buses in Israel, but buses to Eilat are different, and you should order in advance, otherwise you might not have a place on the bus (especially in the summer and especially Sunday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday). You can order online at www.egged.co.il (only in Hebrew) or by phone at *2800, or 03-6948888.
Ovda airport: the airport is not in Eilat. It is about an hour bus ride from Eilat.
Google maps is quite helpful for public transportation information in Israel.
