About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Find an ideal job or being creative-preneur, scholarship and university hunting, earn money to travel around the world

ABOUT ME

Hi, I'm Fitri or you can call me Piter (it's my nickname at uni). I studied interior architecture back then, but end up working at Indonesia's creative economy agency and now at local NGO focusing on social and environmental issues. I wanna travel around the world, love to take photographs (my IG: @anafitriyani), listening various genres of music, enjoy musical instruments, love art, design, and i'm a kinda spontaneous person and love to meet new people to hear interesting stories (http://anafitriyani92.wixsite.com/anafitriyani)

PHILOSOPHY

"Bermimpilah, maka Tuhan akan memeluk mimpi-mimpimu"
"Dream for God will embrace your dreams" - Andrea Hirata, Laskar Pelangi Author (my favorite quote)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I was browsing about how to find a homestay in South Korea, the author of a blog mention this web and I finally join couchsurfing because it seems fun and really interesting!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

While traveling to Singapore after finished my undergraduate degree, I once stayed with 2 hosts, they are so friendly and we're just like friends and family. Beside that, I joined one of Jakarta's couchsurfer events: museum hopping tour. I once have CS meetup as a guide for a short culinary trip with a Japanese engineer. Those were a really nice experience and I am looking forward to another one here.

Interests

Traveling (although just around the city, but I hope I can explore the world especially Europe!), listening music from various genres, sketching, doodling, taking photos of everyday activities, love writing on my blog, keep watching cartoon and reading comic until this age (lol), random and spontaneous person, try to learn guitar and keyboard (maybe someday), believe that dreams could be reached if we try to catch them! hosh!

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: I'm a big fan of Harry Potter, traveling books, comic (is it considered as a book? lol). I love both fictional and non-fictional book

Mucic: Various genre. I love to shuffle new release songs on that famous music player (Sp*tify). I sometimes listen to English song, Indonesian, Spanish, Japan, Korean, or just everything that just catches my ears

Movies: Fantasy, science-fiction, action, thriller, animation, romance, comedy movies: Harry Potter (I'm a Potterhead), Narnia, Big Hero 6 (I love Baymax and Mochi), Hunger Games, Laskar Pelangi (Indonesian movie), kids comic (Doraemon, Chibi Maruko, Miiko; sounds childish huh? lol), loves to watch variety show. I'm a fan of detective series like Sherlock Holmes too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Meet friends from the same major (architecture) from Asia Pacific countries and had a great experience to met a lot of new people, knew new languages, and cultures on Arcasia Bali Student Jamboree 2012. Also being able to travel to 19/34 provinces in Indonesia at my previous job by organizing training for the local creative economy's person (SMEs).

Teach, Learn, Share

Couchsurfing is where you have friends wherever you'll go. We can know how people live with diverse background and I find it really interesting!

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can teach you Bahasa (my native language), or Javanese although just a bit. I have design background as the previous study. I can share a bit of my craft ability, or simply just sketching and doodling together with various media (such as watercolor). Nowadays, I'm very keen on forming a new lifestyle (a half of minimalist, zero waste or less waste) and adapting some interesting things from inspiring person like Joshua and Ryan (The Minimalists), Bea Johnson, Marie Kondo. I feel like my life is slowly changing. Sometimes it's really challenging but interesting! I feel like I found many things to enjoy and more appreciate every single thing I have (consume consciously and feel enough).
