Overview
About Me
Hi, I'm Ana Jú!
I'm 29 years old and I was born in Campinas, Brazil. I spent the bigger part of my childhood living in a house with a huge backyard full of fruit trees, flowers, vegetables, and all animal species.
Now I live in São Paulo. I work as a scriptwriter for social media ads - but much more important than that is the fact I'm a birdwatcher 🐦🐦
[WARNING: if you're a birdwatcher and just bounced on my CS profile, you should know I've been waiting for you for so long - please, get in touch right now and let's build a birding CS community!!!)
I enjoy exploring the city by bike and binoculars, being in nature, hiking, and cooking. I'm organized and I also like to organize stuff - NO that doesn't mean I like to live with messy people - my friends say I'm Monica, from Friends.
I already visited countries like France, Netherlands, Scotland, Spain, Uruguay, and Argentina, but right now I want to explore more about my own country, while climate change ~hasn't changed~ all the important and beautiful biomes we have here.
I've been to 11 of the 26 Brazilian states (and the Federal District: Brasília) and I'd like to visit all of them till my 30's - I won't get it :c
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've been living in São Paulo since 2014, but I don't like to be in the same place for too long - in all the possible senses: places, interests, jobs, houses, cities, style. I work from home and anything is a reason to go out hour to hour - get an espresso, take out the trash, have a walk, read in the park, etc.
A question that guided me through my lifetime: Am I where I wanted to be? That thought make me go ahead and pursue my dreams and keep in touch with my beliefs. And I believe life is connecting to people, having a deep and good conversation, and getting in contact with nature - CS community gives me it all, that's why I'm here.
Interests
"Being always interested in something new" is what I most like about myself.
I'm the kind of person that has a lot of interests throughout life. When I was a kid I used to like climbing trees to catch jabuticabas (Google it). I used to like collecting insects too. When I was 15 years old I was interested in literature, then came the cinema (I used to go to the cinema alone to watch 4 movies in a row). And I used to like writing, so I decided to study Journalism. For that, I moved away from my parent's city and I was really in to discover how to cook so well like my father used to do at home. Then I decided to learn stuff that could give me freedom from the capitalist system and life in general, such as sewing my clothes, and learning how to drive a car and a motorcycle. Then I decided to learn something cooler: how to make cocktails. And then came the drawing, biking, pandeiro, pottery, and, finally, the birdwatching addiction - this interest I can feel is forever.
Someday I would like to learn how to sing and how to play banjo.

Music, Movies, and Books
MUSIC
A lot of stuff. Every day I wake up with a different music in my mind.
MOVIES
Some movies that are memorable to me: Parasite, Enter the Void, Irreversible, I Killed My Mother, "The Cook, the Thief, His Wife and Her Lover", Song of the Sea. A Brazilian good one: O Cheiro do Ralo (The Drain's Smell?). And there's another one called "La Belle Verte" (1996), I do love that movie.
BOOKS
I'm reading "Heroine's Journey: Woman's Quest for Wholeness", by Maureen Murdock
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I already ran and jumped in a train in movement. My leg got bruised for some weeks, but it was an unique experience.
