About Me
Before I say anything I feel I need to clarify: I’m not looking for a hook-up, If you’re looking for a fling, look elsewhere. I’m married.
Ok, now that we have that out of the way…. We love meeting new people from around the world and learning about our similarities and differences. We have 3 young adults, 2 are in college and 1 just finished college. We love to expose them to the wonders of traveling though meeting CS people. I am a Registered nurse and work in a hospital in northern New Jersey. I believe in the power of meditation and complimentary therapies. My husband Paul is in real estate development in New York City and is an amazing cyclist 🚴 We are looking forward to hosting travelers from 3 to 5 days and hopefully someday soon we can stay with some of you. Please don’t ask us for one night, it’s not eco friendly, we have to wash sheets when you leave. Before we forget… we have a cat, Milly (the Lionesse of the block). Keep that in mind if you’re allergic to cats. Smoking is not allowed.
One more thing: if you have confirmed your stay and your plans change, have the courtesy of letting us know with time so we can give the opportunity to other travelers. Cancelling the day of is not acceptable. Again, there are many people requesting and it would be nice to free up the space with time if you won’t be staying with us. If you don’t let us know, we will give you a bad review. Sorry!
Finally, please make sure that you tell us a bit about yourself and have photos in your profile. It’s important before we let someone into our house. If you were verified, that would make our decision easier. If you’re not, we may need to chat on the phone a little bit before we decide. Finally, upon your arrival I’d like to take a picture of your passport. This is just as a self assurance. A couch surfer suggested we do this and we think it’s a great idea. 💡
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Because it's a fun way to meet new people who can give you new perspectives on life. Also, I would like good karma to go around and come around. Life is good and precious and why not share the extra room we have upstairs!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love music that makes me happy. I pay attention to the lyrics. Love Marc Anthony… he makes my feet move before my brain realizes it!!! I love reading anything spiritual like The Alchemist, Sidharta (probably my favorite), The Monk who sold his Ferrari, Three cups of tea (I know there was controversy but still like it!), The kite runner, The Seat of the Soul, The Surrender Experiment, The untethered soul; Wayne Dyer, Louise Hay, Michael Singer… Not much fiction although I used to like suspense novels from authors like Edgar Allan Poe and Agatha Christie, but I don’t like horror books or movies. I’m a spiritual seeker in a spiritual path. I want to evolve beyond being into contemplating. Easier said than done, I know. But I know I can get there. I like poetry as well. My dream is doing some international volunteer work either helping with my nursing skills or otherwise. I believe that those of us who have more, should help those who have less. It was just a chance of life that I was born in the privileged part of the world, I feel it's my moral duty to help those who need a break and anyways, I always get my spirit filled up with love in return! 💕
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During the worst of COVID 2020-2021 I raised over $8000 which I then sent to Doctors Without Borders, Habitat for humanity, Smile train, water for Africa, St Jude’s, etc. Local and international charities that helped me alleviate the stress of working in the hospital during those hard times. I raised that money by making and selling fabric face masks! 🙂 Physically, my biggest challenge has been that I hiked the Pico Turquino in Cuba. Nobody told me I had to climb Pico Santiago and Pico Cuba to get to Turquino!!! 😂 In Sept. 2022 I broke a mental barrier: I went to Italy for roughly two weeks on my own, took trains, buses and stayed in hostals sharing rooms with other travelers. I had a great time and I broke the fear of solo-traveling. For most of you, this is just the way it is, traveling alone, but for me this was a great fear that I conquered and I feel so good about it. Looking forward to my next solo trip, maybe some of you will host me! :-)
UPDATE: Another amazing thing has been signing up for couch surfing... It's been over six months and 17 or 18 accommodations (by April 2023) and we've found it so amazing to meet all these great people who we have shared experiences with and felt so good about helping them realize their dream of traveling! Good karma all around!
Update of the Update: I trekked the Himalayas in February 2024. Very challenging but also I learned a lot about myself and about the journey we have in this world. Very spiritual. I recommend it! I went 3 months solo-traveling and volunteered in Nepal, pilgrimed Camino de Santiago in Spain, etc. I’m happy. Also by now. We had hosted close to 50 couch surfers in our home and we still love it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I used to teach English to low income day workers, I also taught Spanish to travelers in Guatemala. I love sharing my home and knowledge of my local area as well as my Peruvian cooking.
I love complimentary health therapies such as biomagnetism, reiki, meditation, aromatherapy, Thai massage... I love to learn new techniques and share the ones I know. If you know any complimentary therapy that I don't, I'm all ears... even if you know the ones I know. I'm very interested in all of this. I smudge my house often! haha! Trying to cleanse bad vibes and bring good ones!
What I Can Share with Hosts
A clean private bedroom in the penthouse of my home with a queen size bed and private bathroom. If I have time, I can cook one night for you but if it happens to fall in my work days I eat yogurt for dinner! Sorry!!! 😂 Also we can share friendly chats and information about the area where I live: New York City and the suburbs and just about life and stuff! As a clarification: I live in New Jersey, in a small charming town, but you wouldn’t be right in the middle of NYC. You would have to take a bus to my home: it’s about a 45-60 minute ride depending on which bus you take.
