About Me

I was a student at the University of Wisconsin of River Falls where I studied social work. I interned at a community center in St. Paul that works with a lot of different cultures!

Since graduating, I've joined the Peace Corps where I am teaching in Madagascar! It is something I've wanted to do for much of my life and I am absolutely loving it so far!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

While it says that I have been a member for a while, I really haven't been active. I would love to actually get involved more and learn about all sorts of different places and cultures--maybe even do some surfing of my own eventually.

Interests

I LOVE dancing. Swing dancing specifically, but I am really up for just about any style. I will warn you though: if you're trying to get me to dance without a partner, I'll end up looking like a seizing octopus.

I also love to read (though I haven't had much time to recently), watch netflix, write, take walks, and if I have the chance canoeing and camping.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach:
I can teach you how to dance! Swing dance, lindy hop, salsa, cha cha cha, bachata, merengue, etc. I'd be more than happy to! Some styles I know better than others, but we'll work it out.

Learn:
I would be happy to learn anything you throw at me. Have a new recipe you want to share? Great, let's make it! Know a language that I don't? Teach me some basic words and phrases! Work in a field that others think is boring or don't understand? Tell me all about it. I'll ask lots of questions! There is so much knowledge in the world, why waste the opportunity to access it?

Share:
Let's share stories, perspectives, ideologies. I love a healthy and respectful debate. Let's talk about the cultures we've experienced, places we've been or would like to go to.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm not the best cook in the world, but if you're working while I'm staying with you, I'm more than happy to cook and help out around the house. Working can be stressful, and coming home to a home cooked meal is amazing. Also, dance lessons, new perspectives, and an excuse to tour your own city in a new way if you so choose.
