About Me

A warm greeting from Anamarija, a friendly and enthusiastic college student with a moderate amount of free time, but a thousand and one idea on how to spend it.
Also a big coffee and medieval-centres-of-towns lover.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe there is much added value when visiting a place if you get to meet people who live there - to learn about their view on the matters, from sights and food to politics and culture. I also enjoy company and do not go around alone as much.
When I host, I love to show people around Ljubljana and even to take them to the more distant corners of Slovenia, if I have time. I think my country very beautiful and I want to present it that way - tiny, but ful of natural wonders and history.

Interests

I enjoy hiking and visiting museums, playing the ukulele and the guitar, cooking, baking and watching series and movies. The thing I get most joy out of is writing - letters, cute notes for my roommates, postcards and maybe someday, a novel. I try to be around as much as I can and learn new skills, I get excited about everything super quickly and usually it lasts.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like Mumford & Sons, Bastille, Coldplay, The Kooks, Simon & Garfunkel, Kings of Convenience, The Who, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Frank Sinatra etc.
Also a sworn Tolkien lover, but also quite fond of Hesse, Hemingway, Lewis, Zola and Wilde. Besides I belong to the Rowling raised generation, able to cite Harry Potter wherever, whenever, for whatever purpose, if needed,

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Knitted a genuine Gryfindorr scarf.

Teach, Learn, Share

Since I study history, I am especially keen on discussing the history or politics of your (or my) country. I can explain our traditions and teach you about the beautiful syntactical feature of duality in number.
I am all up for cooking together and learning (or teaching) a national song.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am always up for a midnight walk, a cup of coffee on some roof, a song and an awkward dance session or a friendly conversation. If need be I can also cook and make cookies.

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Serbia, Spain, United Kingdom, Vatican City State
