About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To make the stories I'll be telling for the rest of my life
ABOUT ME
My name is Ananda Day. Half Brit, Half American, with a good stint in Senegal. I'm curious to a fault, crave adventure, am caught either with a bottle of wine or my camera, and have a passion for dinner parties and slow evenings. I currently live in San Fransisco, part because it is the only American city that reminds me of Paris. I work with engineers, scientists, and technologiests, but grew up around artists and am driven to make the world that much better, however I can.
PHILOSOPHY
It goes back to the stories we have, and the people we are. I'm fascinated by the people and world around me, and can only hope to have enough time to fall in love with everything.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I travel to be places, not to look at the pictures the world portrays. I love the scents and contrasts. More often than not, I'll pass by the tourist areas and look for the artists and musicians of the neighborhood.
Interests
Tea time, learning about your story, photography and particularly portraits- you can ask me why when we meet, etymology, random facts, adventuring, being in the sunshine, sending real letters, and doing things that are at once intelligent and stupendously stupid as long as I'll be happy the next morning, because after all, those are the best stories.

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: The Great Gatsby, Pride & Prejudice, Bel Canto, Heat, Iran Awakening
Music: Anything and everything. I have grown up with a guitar teacher for a father, and a brother who is a music and film producer... so in the least, I can appreciate the effort of the music.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have seen the sun rise with Mt. Everest in the distance and Darjeeling & the tea fields below me. A moment that still makes my heart pause
What I Can Share with Hosts
Laughter, a fantastic mixed cocktail, a relaxed atmosphere (i.e. the lowest maintenance person one can imagine), a dinner party playlist to die for, rosemary vodka recipes for the summer, and questions... because they're fun :)
