About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To celebrate Lake Superior and bioregion with the world! To learn from other people about their passions and their home-place.

ABOUT ME

I recently changed my first name to Willow. I am a young-at-heart plant-lover, middle-aged mom and university professor. My goal is to be doing yoga and biking/hiking when I am in my nineties!! I would like to learn more wilderness survival skills and do a solo adventure some day. Most of all, I hope my presence on this Earth makes a difference.

PHILOSOPHY

Trust in the healing power of Life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Being open to meeting and learning from people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have met some amazing couch surfers through several of my TBay friends who often host travelers and also through time spent at the Wilderness Awareness School in Washington last summer where a met a wonderful CSer named Fannie. I have been inspired to get involved in this network every since.

Interests

I am interested in yoga, biking, sea kayaking, dog sledding, learning Ojibwe language and teachings, playing the banjo and African djembe drum, learning how to nurture and heal with wild plants.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music--anything with a good dance beat, love Salsa, Kate Bush

Books--too many amazing books to name

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Giving birth!
Living/volunteer conservation work on Little Barrier Island in New Zealand for 3 months and meeting people that changed my life and have remained lifelong friends.
I also fell in love with birds--tweet!

Teach, Learn, Share

Every plant has numerous gifts to offer, we only need to open our hearts and listen. I am trying to move away from book learning to learning directly from places and their peoples.
