CURRENT MISSION

ABOUT ME
I grew up in India and have spent over 4 years in the US. My education has been in Philosophy and Ecology. More recently I have found a life-long interest environmental issues. I am passionate about organic farming and permaculture. I have a permaculture design certification and I am so thrilled to explore the field! I have found travelling and gaining experience through visiting, volunteering, and working at environmental organizations extremely fulfilling.
I am also passionate about art - I am an amateur oil paint artist. I love going to art museums and feeling inspired by the masters. Whenever I travel I make it a point to visit local art museums and natural spaces.
I can say that I am a creative person, who loves to have meaningful conversations about life and nature. Being Indian, I am have been brought up with a deep understanding of hospitality, whether I am the hostess or guest. Its a special relationship that I never take advantage of.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I travel and also host people. Currently I am looking to travel.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have only tried couchsurfing two times as a guest. One was of them was with Marck. My husband and I couchsurfed in Philadelphia and it was a wonderful experience! Marck was a great host and friend to have there.
The other time I tried to couchsurf in Thailand but it was a last-minute decision and it didn't work out.
I love hosting! A lot of friends had come to live with me in NYC and now in Loma Linda, CA. Its been great hosting them in our cozy little apartment and sofa-bed. I try my best to make people as comfortable as I can and provide a simple, healthy breakfast.
Interests
As I mentioned earlier I enjoy all natural spaces, and just being in nature. I also love learning about new and innovative ways of living a low-impact, self-sufficient, and sustainable life. Whenever in cities, I love visiting art museums, book stores and going for live music shows. I also love sitting in coffee shops and reading for hours. These are the pleasures of city life to me. I enjoy playing the guitar as well.

Music: Folk, Jazz, Post-rock (Beirut, Sigur Ros, Thelonius Monk etc.)
Books: My favourite authors recently are Chimmanada Ngozi Adichie, James Baldwin, Jose Saramago, Chinua Achebe, Gary Shtyengart, and J.M. Coetzee.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
There are so many amazing things that I feel like I have experienced in my life which I am so grateful for. One of my best experiences was living in a remote tribal village in South-India for one and a half month. At night the elephants would come to a pond near the house to drink water and it was an amazing feeling to know these majestic creatures were so near by. In the day we would see them on the mountain sides. The tribal people knew exactly where they were and how they moved. It was a beautiful place with such knowledgeable people.
