I dont think that fate can be justification for actions of each person. I am sure, the most important thing, which people have is strength of mind.
It is not power to do "what you feel", because feelings are changeble, and there is the only one way - to make your mind and heart come together.
If you stay in illusion of "freedom" , you'll never see that really fredom means be responsible for acts, be vulnerable and dont hide from the reality.
