Overview
About Me
I'm a researcher in Phylogenetics at the Indian Institute of Science. My work on Indian fauna takes me to a lot of of offbeat, remote places across the country.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Although my work doesn't allow me enough time, I would really love to travel abroad when I can. Being a student means a shoestring budget...which makes it a little harder to combine with the urge to travel to new places, learn about cultures and meet new people. Couchsurfing helps me fulfil these, with a lot of help from great like-minded people. Unfortunately, since I live in a hostel and am often away on fieldwork, it makes it difficult to host people. But I would be more than happy to help out with travel plans whenever possible.

Music, Movies, and Books
I'm a bit of a bibliophile so I makes it really really hard to put down a list here. But if I had to read only 2 authors for the rest of my life...with a heavy heart, I'll stick to Wodehouse and Saki...humour can help in the darkest of times.

Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to learn more about the places I travel to, their history, their culture, their stories...the hidden gems that make them so fascinating. Enriching experiences in a new place make memories for a lifetime.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my own personal experiences with my hosts...maybe bond over common interests. I can definitely teach English...and maybe a few other subjects of interest. I have not travelled to too many countries yet, but I would be more than happy to talk to them about the places I have. I could help them with ideas on travel plans if they would like.
