Overview
About Me
I love to write though I don't do it as often as I'd like, and edit long copies to relax. (It bothers me when people don't use the ellipses correctly.) Among other things, I talk frequently to the waves, wind and trees; cuddle animals; weave dreams and live in them as much as I do in reality; walk without aim; try to jump the waves; sing and dance in the rain; talk to stray cats; listen to cicadas, crickets and frogs; enjoy cliches and craft.
I have a soft corner for conversations about (or a mix of) anthropology, sociology, minority rights, feminism, Indian politics and philosophy. If we ever meet I'm most likely to ask you a lot of questions, some intrusive, because I'm fascinated by why people do what they do.
Queer friendly, body positive, and environmentally conscious.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To create new experiences and memories; make friends; find perspective; have engaging discussions on pretty much anything.
As a host, I usually don't have a lot of time during the day to spend with you, so if you're looking for someone to take you around, I'm not the person you want. If you don't mind roughing it a bit (my house is minimal) and exploring the city on your own during the day, please write in. I DO NOT host people without references and with half-filled profiles.
As a surfer/guest, honestly, all I need is a safe space/roof over my head. If you have time to spare for conversation/hanging out, I'd love that.
A request: I don't appreciate an invasion of my private space, or people wasting my time so please don't take me or it for granted.
Interests
My interests vary with time, I don't restrict myself.
Music, Movies, and Books
Honestly, I don't have 'favourites'; how does one choose! But I realise that's an unhelpful answer so I'll try. Jazz, instrumental, indie; animated films, anime, Sweet Home Alabama, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani; Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Jack Kerouac, Basho, Persepolis, My Gita, On The Road, Thema Book of Naxalite Poetry, Annihilation of Caste, to name a few.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I decided, a while ago, to see the brighter side of life and chose to live instead of exist, as the cliche goes. It's harder than you think.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: How to sit in and enjoy silence, never letting it get awkward.
Learn: Everything!
Share: My thoughts and ideas.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Well, I'm not sure. Silence, I suppose, when needed, and respect for you, your space, your opinions and time. A list of books to read and thoughts that wander in my head. If you have something specific in mind, let me know.
