Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have lived in Liverpool for 11 years. I think I understand the dynamics of the city quite well by now and hope I can help others exploring it.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
In the beginning, I didn't have a couch and therefore only met people out for a bite to eat or a drink. It felt good to be of help to people who are traveling. Since I've done a lot of lone traveling myself, I understand how comforting it is to find a friendly face.
But now, having a couch and having done a bit of hosting, it's taken it to a different level. It's a surprise to find out what happens after I welcome people I haven't met before into my home and so far the surprise has always been very good.
The next step will be surfing some couches...

Music, Movies, and Books
At the moment I've finished reading Phillip Roth, which I enjoyed tremendously, and am now re-reading Garcia Marques' 100 years of solitude - a classic! As for films, there isn't enough space here so I'll just list a few I liked in 2009: The White Ribbon, Fish Tank, Gomorrah, Me and Orson Wells...
(Just in case you are wondering, I didn't like Avatar at all...)
Teach, Learn, Share
I can probably teach/share more than I give myself credit for. and so, not to leave this section blank, I should say that my last couch surfers asked me about vegetarian cooking, something I was delighted to expand on... I love food and think I know a thing or two about meat-free cooking.
