ABOUT ME

Andrew was born and bred in Sydney, Australia where he lived and worked right up until he bumped into a certain English chick a couple of years ago (ps. that´s Lou). Earlier this year we decided to quit lovely Sydney´s shores for another adventure - moving over to London with a detour travelling around South America for three and a half months.

We both love getting to know new people and their culture. Preferably over a drink or five and a plate of meat products of some description. We only indulge our serial killer instincts on the third turn of the full moon when Uranus is in sync with Saturn, so most hosters and surfers should feel comfortable that we won´t mess with their lives during the stay.

We have heard amazing stories about CS and we´re about to enjoy our very first couch hospitality courtesy of Daniel Aureliano in Ushuaia, Argentina - otherwise known as ´el fin del mundo´, woohoo!!

We´ve got very similar interests like photography, cooking, travelling, rugby union and most other sports, cinema, eating, drinking, occasionally wobbling around the dancefloor and generally having a laugh!

If it sounds good we will listen to it! Currently listening to Angus and Julia Stone, The Dead Weather and Jurassic 5 a very random mix! Lou loves Bon Iver, Tracy Chapman, Radiohead, Mark Ronson, Phoenix, Passion Pit and Jose Gonzales. Her ipod also harbours an embarrassingly nostalgic playlist of Phil Collins, Lionel Richie, Elton John and Toto. But try not to judge her too much.
Lou loves to read but Andrew can´t be bothered cos he finds it boring. Some of Lou´s favourite books/authors are Margaret Atwood, Phillip Pullman, Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, anything by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Isabel Allende, The Book Thief by Marcus Zusak, The God of Small Things... Basically as long as it´s not crappy chick lit, Lou will stick her nose in it and check it out.
Luckily we both like the same amusing/challenging movies and shows, namely anything with Will Ferrell/Steve Carrell in (Anchorman, The US Office, Get Smart), Family Guy, Arrested Development, Dumb and Dumber, Ace Ventura, the Ice Age movies. Also some more serious (we can be high-brow you know) ones: The Last King of Scotland, No Country For Old Men, The Lives of Others (Das Leben Der Anderen), Tell No One (Ne Le Dis A Personne). You get the picture. Snigger.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

We have done so many amazing things and seen so much just on this short trip to South America (Machu Picchu, sunset over Lake Titicaca, biking down Death Road, Bolivian Salt Flats... the list goes on). One memorable experience would be when we were volunteering at a wild animal refugee in Bolivia when we were handfeeding an Andean bear one minute and then playing with capuchin and spider monkeys the next. Incredible.
