About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Working in Toulouse until February 2017, when we will be participating in the R4 Trophy!

ABOUT ME

Hi everyone! My name is Ana Sofía and I come from Córdoba, Argentina. My whole life I've been moving out from one city to another, changing schools, neighbourhoods and friends, so I've just get used to it. I guess this moving has made me friendly and very social and I'm not afraid of making new friends, so I love discovering new places, new cultures and new people and that is why I've also decided to study as many languages as possible, to be able to communicate and chat with everyone, everywhere! I still want and have to travel to a lot of places of this whole world, and I'm sure I'll make it someday in the future thanks to those people out there who share the same feeling that I have, ready to make new friends and anxious to travel and share!

So in 2014 I finally had the chance and the luck to travel a bit more with my backpack as I always wanted to, and of course, with the best company and the best partner someone could ever ask: my best friend and boyfriend Johann.
To sum up a little bit I'm just going to tell that from January 2014 we've been travelling around Argentina, Brazil, a bit of sealing in the Atlantic, crossed all the Amazonian till Letizia in Colombia, then Bogota, Cuba, and don't know how, Martinique in October 2014 and where we are staying right now. Long story to tell, don't want to bore you but I'll be more than willing and happy to tell you our adventure in person :).

UPDATE: Back in Toulouse since July 2015

PHILOSOPHY

Hakuna Matata. Love and respect life above everything. Smile, laugh at least once per day...Treat the people the way you want to be treated by...and WEAR SUNSCREEN!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I'm not going to lie, first time I heard about couchsurfing a sign of "free stay" popped into my head, but it didn't take long to find out how wrong I was. I not only found a bright and new way to travel and discover different cultures but an amazing way to make new friends, to share, to learn...

All of my couchsurfing experiences were more than great. Each one of them was unique, special, authentic, and unforgettable. Lot of laughs, but, as I said before, lot of learning! About life, about the different ways to live it, professions I didn't even know, other thoughts and beliefs...So many people that i would love to see again at least one more time in my life, so many people that I would definitely be friend with...

So far I've been hosted in England, France, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Miami, Martinique, Trinidad ant Tobago. Thanks to everyone that ever hosted me and Johann, we were very lucky to met you and we'll be always grateful! We will be hosting you whenever you want, wherever we are :)

I haven't had the chance to host many people from couchsurfing yet, first because of all the travelling we were doing, and second because of the places we've been living...some times is far from the city so it's not comfortable for backpackers without cars...right now we are in Martinique, kind of the same problem to host, but this summer we are coming back to France for a while so I hope we will have the opportunity to host as many surfers as hosts received us and more! (update: Staying in Toulouse until February 2017)

Luckily I did had the chance to host people from other places before couchsurfing and I always had good experiences too ^^

We also participate in some couchsurfing meetings and forums. So, yes...Couchsurfing is so much more that what I though the first time I heard about it, and since, I always try to explain to the new ones how complex this philosophy is and how much we can get and give...

Interests

I love to read, watch movies, hiking, I like to play the guitar (trying to learn some ukulele now...) and sing (even if I'm the worst at it heheh), I love jokes, laughs, videos of people falling, I like cooking desserts and cooking in general if I'm not hungry, to learn new languages, Harry Potter, Sailor Moon, (FREAK, yes, I know) Game of Thrones (I did read the books), talk about it and so many other series, handicrafts, crochet, I start diving: lovin' it, I'm also scout :) (once a Scout, always a Scout), I like photography but I don't actually know anything about it, I like dogs, I like birds, and I like cats sometimes but I'm allergic to so...and of course I love travelling :D and talk...I like to talk...like a lot. I also like SUSHI! can't stop writing...I like watching Youtubers monologues. 9GAG, Zumba, SALSA!!...

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm sorry, but I just have to say it... I LOVE HARRY POTTER since... ever, I'm just a freak of Harry Potter since I read it when I was 11 and I grow up up with it, reading it, it made me want to study English!! (It also made me want to be a Hogwarts student!)

About music...I like happy music, the music that makes me move, no matter what kind of music, if it makes me feel something, I like it. I like salsa but I don't dance it very well yet, I like covers so I like very much Boyce Avenue, also folkloric music from my country...

About books...I like to read, I prefer fantasy stories (HP, LOTR, Eragon, GOT, Memories of Hidun, so many...), but I also like the Dan Brown kind of stories, mystery... Isabel Allende...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Well, traveling and knowing new places is always a unique and unforgettable experience, but if I have to highlight one of those moments, that would be... the first time I visited London, it was amazing. I was looking for that moment for so long, so many years hearing about it, watching documentals, movies, reading magazines about it that when I arrived, it felt just perfect...

Iguazu waterfalls... No words!

I sailed four days from Salvador Bahia to Natal in the Atlantic...was pretty great! :D

15 days in a boat in the Amazonas, from Brazil to Colombia...sleeping in a hamoc! I didnt see any anacondas but saw some pink dauphins which is nice :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Well fist of all I can share many experiences and stories while travelling...and then I can always teach some spanish; english; a little bit of french; a little bit of guitar, I can share some Argentinian recipes, I can also show you how to make some bracelets if you want to sell them xD...I will always be willing to show, share and teach the little I may know...
