About Me

Hello world! My name is Anastasia and I am an open-minded artsy international morning bird residing in my beloved Berlin!

In this tough year I decided that it's as important as ever to add colors to our lives, connect with new people, help each other, share our passions and visions and thereby make each others' lives a little bit brighter!

I'm very excited (and a bit anxious 😅) about all my travel plans for the upcoming year, but I also see it as a great opportunity and a challenge to overcome!

And since Berlin is opening up again to more and more beautiful people around the world - I'm also very excited to help with what I can here :) Be it hosting, showing around or at least giving some tips!

So far I had a very positive experience with CS, and met a lot of very colorful and interesting people (and I much crave for it, seeing so much conformism and ordinarity lately in the world..). So I very much look forward to meeting more of you, extraordinary CS people!

P.S. Since I had some mixed experiences lately, just wanted to mention it here:
I am an independent woman and consider myself a feminist. So if you feel the urge to buy me food or make sexist comments or invite me to visit your city/place even though we never met, you should probably contact somebody else. Thank you for understanding..

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

-- to connect with new interesting people from around the world,
-- to learn something new and hopefully teach the others something as well
-- experience new things and expand my horizons!
-- convince you that modern art is not waste of time and artists are (not) nuts
-- to prove to you (and myself) that you can safely travel and discover life even as a solitary woman
-- to study how my back pain is affected by various couch types :D

Music, Movies, and Books

My tastes are quite versatile and tend to fluctuate with my mood :D
But I love most of what Berlin has to offer, especially amazing techno scene and other night life music

But if I'm busy working on a new little art piece or an article, some classics or jazz are great as well!

I love a bit of drama in books and movies (and my life 😅) So can probably add great pieces to this list like Clockwork Orange, Requiem for a Dream and American Psycho. But from time to time I also enjoy cheesy stuff like LaLaLand :D

I would have too many books to mention, but would highlight 2 here: One Hundred Years of Solitude by Gabriel García Márquez and Der Himmel kennt keine Günstlinge by Erich Maria Remarque

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up a mountain near Königsee basically in sandals and not complaining xD

Now I am in the process of making an exciting bucket list to help my future journeys, so hopefully next year this section will be much more full! :D

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some modern art techniques and visions. Can tell you how to tell a good book / article from a bad one. Educate you about Berlin's nightlife and underground communities. Can exchange some Ukrainian/Russian cooking recipes. And share my endless patience and energy unless I am out of them already xD

Happy to learn about pretty much anything new and expand my horizons in all possible ways! There are too many items still on my bucket list to not say yes to something fun and new :D

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can at the very least show you around some less known but amazing places in Berlin!
If my agenda allows - I'm also happy to hang out and do some fun activities together.
And sharing a good conversation, a meal and exchanging culture!

I love to spend time with people, so if you are only looking for a couch and no interaction, you're probably considering a wrong person!
