About Me

Hey!
My name is Anastasia and I'm originally from Germany. I moved to the US last year for a one year Au Pair program and so far I really enjoy being here. I live in Nashville TN, where I've also met incredible Couchsurfers. They introduced me to this platform, so I'm kinda new here.
My parents are from Russia and they moved to Germany in the 90's, so I was born and raised in Germany. It was always my dream to come to the states and see how different things are here. And also I really love languages. So besides German and Russian, I've learned Spanisch, French and English in school. I mostly enjoy speaking English, it's such a great language.
I would describe myself as a easygoing and relaxed person. I like having fun and doing unplanned things. Also I enjoy everything outside like hiking or kayaking. I like doing things I've never done before like sitting on top of a waterfall or snorkeling with dolphins. Skydiving is still on my list!
And of course, I love traveling. I love seeing new places, new cultural and just anything different from Germany. Besides that, I also like cooking and activities like volleyball and dancing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I like meeting other traveler and sharing great stories with them. My friends in Nashville introduced me to Couchsurfing last year and so far I met so many incredible people. I didn't know about this platform before I got here and I really enjoy meeting people. Couchsurfing is a great way to travel alone while meeting people from different countries and I think you learn more about a country or state when you spend time with locals. I'm a openminded person, so I enjoy listing to someone's story or reason why they live where they live. I just like having a good conversation. I also think that when you have a good connection with someone you'll always remember this person when you think back, because this person made your trip even better.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoyed reading books when I was younger, so I know many German children books. But I kinda stopped, so I'm not really a book person. And it gets worse every year.

My music taste is very special. I kinda like everything from country to jazz and blues. I also love rap music and this “typical radio music”.

I'm a huge movie type of person. Movies like “The Blind Side" or "Life of Pi" are my favorites. I also enjoy watching "The Avengers", "Fast and Furious", "Men and Black" and "The Upside". Documentaries are also nice!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I decided to become an AuPair and spend one year in America. Definitely, the best decision I've ever made.

Teach, Learn, Share

Fluent in German and Russian, my englisch is also good and understandable, learned Spanisch and French for 5 years

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share some German/ Russian dishes with you for sure. I also like sharing great travel stories like how to survive in Key west for 4 days with only a bag back. I danced for 7 years, so if you need new dance moves I can also help you with that :D

And I've you ever plan to come to Germany, I'd love to be your host!
