About Me

Hey there! I'm Anastasia, the marketing maestro on a globe-trotting escapade with my adventurous fiancé! From crafting compelling campaigns to savouring exquisite cuisines, our journey is a perfect blend of work and play. 🌐🍽️

After completing my school, I moved from Ukraine to Poland to pursue my studies. During this time, I embarked on numerous travels, visiting nearly 28 countries either alone or with friends. I also had the opportunity to study in Italy at one of Europe's oldest universities, the Universita Degli Studi di Padova. Following my studies, I lived in Poland, Germany, Italy, and Ukraine before settling down in Portland, OR with my fiance.

When war erupted in Kyiv, I relocated to North America, where I began a new chapter of my life entirely on my own. I'm an open-minded, easygoing, and positive individual, and I'm thrilled to share my experiences and inspiration with you. My heart is captured by Ed Sheeran's music, dance moves, and books.

By profession, I'm a free-spirited remote IT worker, and my interests include frequent travel, reading, and dancing. For me, life is all about experiences rather than possessions. After all, what does it matter how old your sneakers are if they carry you through the streets of Paris?

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I say I want to travel, I don't mean I want to stay in resorts and take guided tours or purchase key chains from souvenir stores. I'm not interested in becoming a tourist. When I say I want to travel, I mean I want to learn about other countries and become a part of them. I'd want to find a modest coffee shop in Germany, Italy, or France. I'd want to wander along the beaches of Australia and peruse the bookshops of England. I'd want to trek China's Great Wall and go cliff diving in Hawaii. I want to meet individuals that aren't like me, but who I can still enjoy. I wish to photograph things, places, and people I encounter. I want my intellect to be constantly amazed by the wonders of life on Earth. I want to see things with fresh eyes. I want to be able to look at a map and recall how the locations I've travelled to and the people I've met have changed me. I want to return home and understand that I haven't returned whole, that I have left a piece of my heart at each place I've visited. This, I believe, is at the core of adventure, and it is for this reason that I intend to make my life one.

I believe that travel is the one thing you can buy that will make you wealthy. I met a lot of people on my trips, and I'm glad we're still in touch through Instagram or Facebook. It's also a great chance for me to practise my English, learn about different cultures, hear funny stories and share mine, have deep discussions, and be truly childish. We can have a good time, go on crazy road trips and parties, or simply relax on a peaceful balcony with a bottle of wine. Anything goes as long as we connect; after that, it's irrelevant.

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't have a favourite genre of music. If a song comes on the radio that catches my attention, I look up the name of the song and the artist or group who sings it, and then I download it from iTunes. These songs from various genres eventually became what I listened to in my spare time. My audience is so small that I'm not a singer. I only sing when I'm in the shower.

Favourite movies: "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "W.E." by Madonna, "The Holiday", and of course "Friends".
Favourite cuisine: Italian
Favourite wine: Riesling

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I packed my belongings and travelled overseas one day in search of a new life. I started my studies in Poland and then went to Italy as part of an Erasmus programme. I applaud anyone who takes risks and pursues their dreams. I still daydream about visiting New York and London, opening my own gallery, and writing and publishing a children's book.

Teach, Learn, Share

My soul dances in Italy, my heart beats in Ukraine, my mouth eats croissants in France and my mind relaxes in the Netherlands. I would like to share with you my experience, listen to your stories, and (maybe will you be a new hero of my article, who knows?

What I Can Share with Hosts

Good vibes are the most valuable asset I can offer. I can teach you yoga, stretching, Ukrainian, Russian, and Polish. I can tell you about my travels and the best places to visit in a few of the cities I've lived in. I'm not a bad cook, so I'd be happy to help with breakfast, supper, or anything else in the kitchen. Would love to share a lot about my culture and country of origin.

P.S. I guarantee great music in the kitchen
