About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Being kind and grateful, having fun, meeting new people and sharing experiences.

ABOUT ME

Hi! I am Anastasia, 30 years old and living with my wonderful family in Saarland, south-east Germany. Before that I lived in Bucharest and, while studying architecture, in Lisbon and Madrid. I like going to colorful festivals, dancing, telling stories at a fire and learning new skills on the way. On the more conventional side, I am working as an architect and a caregiver for people with disabilities... so it's a mix of creativity and empathy.

I am also the proud mother of an amazing four year old daughter.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I think staying with someone that knows the city is a tremendous opportunity, and I am grateful couchsurfing makes it possible so readily. Also this concept of generosity, of offering one's place for visitor asking only for experiences in return, seems wonderful to me.

Interests

I like living art- hearing jam sessions, meeting artists and getting inspired by their creativity, engaging in thoughtful conversations...

I someitmes draw, write, play ukulele or hang drum, but everyhting just for fun and totally not professional. I can spend entire nights reading when i am in the mood for it.

Music, Movies, and Books

Psychedlic music, from rock to electronic. Smooth and gipsy jazz, african and south american music. Everything with exotic insturments in it and a good rhyhtim!

Books about history, psychology, politics, anthropology. And good novels (Garcia Marquez, Borges, Rulfo, Günther Grass, Louis de Bernieres, Faulkner, Vonnegut, Chinua Achebe, Amitav Gosh, Salman Rushie). And good science-fiction... hm, that's what I maybe love the best, imagining the future is a roller-coaster of feeling desperate and enthusiastic in the same time (Isaac Asimov, Ursula K. Le Guin, Strugatsky brothers, Ted Chiang)

Movies with wich i can totally identify, like I could be talking the lines - as the movies of Wim Wenders. or crazy ones like the ones from Gaspar Noe and Jodorwsky. Dreamlike and romantic movies too...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Seeing the dancing cobras in Marrakech, being in Sevilla at the time when the lemon trees bloomed.
The northern Camino de Santiago- camping on beautiful beaches and taking it slow.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My curiosity, love for life, experiences I've gained through visiting and living in different countries and, most importantly, an eager listening ear :).

Countries I’ve Lived In

Germany, Portugal, Romania, Spain
