About Me

Hi everyone! I'm Anastasiia from Ukraine. I've been studying in Poland for three years and currently, I'm doing my master's degree at UNI Kassel, Germany.

I love traveling, and meeting new people, natives; seeing new places, trying cheap and tasty food ( I adore good falafels and all the vegetarian street food! ). I like finding inspiration in really unique and beautiful buildings, just walking in unknown, different cultural districts and staring around, taking pictures.

My passions are modern art, art exhibitions, architecture, weird sculptures, and beautiful people. I am also a techno lover and have been spending several summer breaks raving in Berlin.

I like doing yoga, stretching, bouldering on occasion, and just all the physical activities in general.

Here is my Instagram to have an idea of who I am beside the text above ( :

Music, Movies, and Books

I like deep houses, and lyrical techno ( if I can say so ). There are guys Artbat, who is from Ukraine and play amazing sets with the best background view. Ben Bohmer is also a top dj and the set from Prague 2019 is just awesome.

I also like jazz and electronic jazz, trip-hop, and R&B/Soul. Check out Portishead and Hiatus Kaiyote, so deep music they do.

Lately, I started to listen to more and more Ukrainian music that literally gives me goosebumps. One of my favorite artist are DakhaBrakha, Odyn v Kanoe, Jerry Heil.

I listen to music when I'm sad, relaxed, worried, or want to think about something that bothers me.

I like reading but try to read more when there is an opportunity. The last books I read and really loved them: "The shoe dog", "The Catcher in the Rye" and "Dandelion Wine".

Usually, I try to find some well-known novels that are for all generations.

I watch Netflix and the list of the series and Movies that I've watched is reaaaally long. I also do love old movies (old for me) such as "Accountant", A beautiful mind", and "Fight Club". Always gladly would hear some recommendations to watch for my watch-list.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

As of now, I guess it's a trip to Brazil. I'm Ukrainian and for me, that continent looks like another Earth and I didn't believe I would ever go there. I was there with a friend whom I met on Couchsurfing and who was my first host ( our friendship might say forever! ). We visited three cities by the ocean, I saw a carnival, was inside Brazilian families, visited the most beautiful prajas in my life, was eating food that I've never even seen before and of course delicious caipiroscas : ))))

The not less amazing thing I've done is - milking a cow! It was my very first time and for some reason, I always dreamed to try it and become a pro doing it. It was in the Ukrainian's countryside and I could do better but eventually I got a few drops of fresh milk!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you some words in Ukrainian, and Polish. Some people say they're similar - for sure, but only for Ukrainians and Polish ( :
Other people will take some time to understand what is going on.

We can cook together using Google recipes, I find them the best. I can make the best morning oatmeal in your life and this porridge will become your favorite breakfast till the end of your life ( very healthy! ).

There is always something to share when new people see each other for the first time. So, I'm sure we will find out what a nice contribution we can bring to each other's life.

What I Can Share with Hosts
