Overview
About Me
Volunteering in Malta with the Erasmus European Solidarity Corps and due to the war in Ukraine, I was living in Malta for a while, bringing my parents from Mariupol to this magical island, where they are trying to find their own 'place.' It's been a challenging journey, especially after the destruction of my hometown, Mariupol, by the troops of the Russian Federation. Despite the hardships, life must go on. They're slowly adjusting to our new life in Malta, grateful for the safety and opportunities it provides.
Currently, I am in Dubno, Ukraine, temporarily returning to my home country before my planned move to California in August 2024.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I have been using this awesome app for about 7 years, which has completely changed my life. Every time I use it, I'm genuinely surprised by every host and couchsurfer I meet. The app has helped me find my way around the world, connect with people, and build strong connections along the way.
Interests
My interests are deeply rooted in art, particularly in the expressive mediums of watercolors and acrylic painting. Recently, I've embarked on a journey to cultivate plants at home, finding joy in nurturing and watching them grow. I also have a passion for preserving the beauty of flowers by drying them and using them to create art and crafts. Inspired by the literature evenings in Malta, I'm exploring the world of poetry as a means of capturing the emotions and experiences that resonate with me. Additionally, I am fascinated with the Chinese tea ceremony, finding solace and appreciation in its rituals and traditions.

Music, Movies, and Books
I recently bought a vinyl player and have become absolutely obsessed with it. My musical tastes range from neoclassical pieces by artists like Єгор Грушин (Egor Grushin) and Ludovico Einaudi to the soulful melodies of jazz and blues legends such as Louis Armstrong, Ella Fitzgerald, and Frank Sinatra. My musical interests also extend to iconic artists like Leonard Cohen, The Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Rolling Stones, The XX, Dire Straits, and many more.
My favorite book is "Three Comrades" by Erich Maria Remarque. I find myself drawn to its pages time and again, often moved to tears by its poignant narrative. In a heartfelt gesture, I downloaded an audio version of the book for my grandmother shortly before she passed away in Mariupol during the war in Ukraine in 2022. This book will forever be intertwined with the memories of discussing its themes and characters with her, making it a cherished part of my life.
