I'm always up for adventure and new experiences. I try to make each day fun, even if really busy at work, but its my (rare) time off when I really get to make the most of being alive!

PHILOSOPHY

A life lived in fear is a life half lived.

I like to plan my trips, with time for spontaneity.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I do alot of solo travel as I find it hard to organise annual leave at the same time as my friends and want to go away with every week off or long weekend making CS ideal for meeting up with locals or other travellers!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Porto, Portugal 2011- great meal and night with some interesting people

Prague 2012 - great home cinema night with some really good people

Vienna 2013 - met some amazing people in a fantastic flat

I like to make the most of life; travel and the sea are my biggest passions. Love surfing and windsurfing, also climbing mountains, snowboarding and just chilling out drinking beer or tea. I love city walking and dancing in fields but nothing beats meeting new people and decent conversation.

I love reading and like to think of each trip by the books I've read - Shantaram was my favourite book of 2010; read it mostly on the beaches of Kerala. Other favourites include Midnights Children and anything by Haruki Murakami.

Music from dubstep/reggae/classic rock/punk and ska/bluegrass and folk/anything I can dance to! I play electric violin in a band and occasinal guitar (badly - I accept any teaching).

Movies...well, too many to list. This is the year I am building a DVD collection.

Living in Tanzania, seeing the sunrise out of the sea on one side of Zanzibar and then watching it set into the sea on the otherside of the island that evening.

Traveling solo around India- loved all of it!

Watching a lightening storm in a cloud from a plane flying over Ethiopia - the whole cloud was on fire!
