About Me

Hi everyone,

I am a 20-year-old French guy, starting my third year of study in Sciences Po Paris. There, I learnt a mix of economics, sociology, history, and political philosophy during two years.
Now, the cool thing is that our third year of study has to be spent abroad. First destination : Washington D.C. for a six months internship at the French embassy !

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I wish to meet as many awesome people as possible, learn from them, and see amazing things during this year abroad. There's no better way to discover a place than meeting the people who live in it !

Music, Movies, and Books

Music : I play the transverse flute ! I play mainly classical music (I love Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Dvorak, or baroque music), but I also like to hear jazz, folk (Celtic music mainly), some rock (16 Horsepower, Madness), sometimes pop music (Agnes Obel).

Movies : The Lord of the Rings, Stardust, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Monty Pythons (Holy Grale, Life of Brian), Tim Burton (Beatle Juice, Edward Scissorhands, Charlie and the chocolate factory), Jim Jarmusch (Paterson, Dead man), Miyazacki (Princess mononoke, The wind is rising) Alain Resnais (On connaît la chanson, Mon oncle d'Amérique).
TV shows : Doctor Who, Sherlock, Game of Thrones, True Detective, Stranger Things, The Event.

Books : Heroic-fantasy : His Dark Materials, the vampire Lestat, Skullduggery Pleasant, Eragon, various books by David Gemmel and Terry Pratchett. Science fiction : Dune, Brave New World, La Nuit des Temps, Honor Harrington. And I'm progressively getting to classics : Balzac, Camus, Steinbeck, Faulkner. I recently begun The Trial by Kafka, which seems real good. I also read more political books, such as "The Collapse of western civilisation", about the possible consequences of climate change.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed from Britanny to Spain with cousins. 3 days and 3 nights (without stops) to go there, 5 days and 4 nights to go back (the wind wasn't with us). We saw whales and dolphins !

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm usually curious about people's stories. I love to talk about life, culture, politics, philosophy, movies, whatever... especially around a nice drink !

Apart from that I know a lot of games, and I always have some in my suitcase, if you're interested. I usually take my flute also, and love to play with people I meet.

Countries I’ve Visited

Germany, Italy, Morocco, Spain, Turkey
