About Me

Of Ukrainian origin, to Russian parents (it is complicated), educated in the UK (Dulwich College, LSE, BPP and UoL). Recently moved to Copenhagen after working in Moscow, Kiev, Amsterdam, Dusseldorf and London. As I don't yet have a flat here, I spend most weekends somewhere in Europe, but hope to sort something out soon

Presently work in oil and gas consulting, but did lots of different jobs through my life. Moved into this role as expected it to be a reasonably sane job after 10 years of mad entrepeneurial jobs, but within first month I was a bit overenthusiastic in taking on work and found myself working and traveling to projects from Norway, Uganda, Bangladesh and more.

Intend to do an executive MBA with Copenhagen Business School in February (if I am accepted as applied well past the deadline)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Recent move to Copenhagen and unexpectedly tough travel schedule made me realise that I have very little chance of meeting people outside work and someone recommended couchsurfing parties as a good start for people of my background. Would also like to learn Danish and practice my French and may be find new interests here.

I live in a one bedroom flat, have a crazily intense job and travel around (work and pleasure) all the time, so it means that it is very tough for me to host couchsurfers at the moment.

Interests

At the moment it is work, studies and travel. There isn't much time for anything more, but would love to find other interests

  • partying
  • traveling
  • socializing
  • business

Music, Movies, and Books

Presently, I'm back into Russian literature, as it is pretty incredible really - Pelevin, Dostoyevsky, Pushkin and Esenin. I've tried to read some French classics, but my French isn't quite there yet, so I make do with Tintin and Asterix for now.

In terms of movies, as I'm starting on my Danish its Killing, Borgen and Broen (yes its Swedish, but its good)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Either nothing, or too much to list. There is a project I'm managing, which can change the course of a country's development, so I hope to put that later in the year.

Countries I’ve Lived In

Canada, Germany, Netherlands, Russian Federation, Ukraine, United Kingdom
