My partner and I live in Rapid City, South Dakota. We live 5 minutes from downtown, and 35 minutes from Mt Rushmore. The Black Hills are directly to the west with endless outdoor places to explore. To the east is the Badlands National Park and grasslands. Rapid City has a moderate climate, little to no humidity, beautiful sunsets, all thanks to the protection of the Black Hills to the west. My partner grew up here in the Southern Black Hills, and with his knowledge and what I have learned we can tell you all the non-touristy places to go.
