About Me
CURRENT MISSION
The greatest degree of inner tranquility comes from the development of love and compassion. The more we care for the happiness of others, the greater is our own sense of well-being. Tenzin Gyatso, 14th Dalai Lama of Tibet
ABOUT ME
I'm a laid back Irish guy who loves to travel, meet new people and enjoy life as much as possible.
I've been travelling on and off for five years now and it's become a bit of an addiction.
So I guess I could say that I work because I have to, not because I want to, but I travel because I need to, not because I can.
PHILOSOPHY
Life is what you make it and not what you let it become.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I spread the good word among people who've never heard of couchsurfing. And I try to explain, that the concept of letting somebody you never met into your house, is not crazy! As the old saying goes, there's no such thing as strangers, just friends you haven't met yet!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've hosted quite a few couchsurfers in Dublin, from young American college students to a retired New Zealand couple and all were great experiences. I've surfed quite a bit through Europe, Russia and Japan and met some wonderful people who allowed me a glimpse into their lives. Again, all brilliant experiences.
Interests
Travelling is my main passion as I love discovering new places and meeting new people. From this stems my interest in hiking and a sense of adventure to hike in places where transport can't bring me. As I can't travel all the time, listening to music, reading and going out with friends pass the rest of my time.

Music, Movies, and Books
I enjoy a good action / thriller movie that keeps my interest but when I'm looking to relax, comedy is the way to go.
For music, I'm a big rock/metal fan, but give me anything from the 1980s and I will love it!!
As for reading, it's crime fiction / thrillers all the way.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2005, I went to the USA and trained to be a stuntman for the movies. It was an incredible experience which fulfilled a lifelong dream of mine.
I've also been lucky enough to have successfully, travelled around the world in 6 months by land and sea.
