Overview
About Me
I have an insatiable wanderlust, recharge by exploring the natural world, and love meeting new people but am a little tied down these days because of school; I'm now a 4th year veterinary student renovating a fixer-upper house. James, my partner in crime and the master of disaster/demo and design, shares this account so either of us may respond to your surfing requests when I'm on clinics
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
We host by lending our couch, tents, floor space, and hammocks. The past few years haven't been the best for us to offer our space (sanding, painting, tearing down walls) but we now are in a better place to host -most of the time-. The more advance notice the better- I may have access to email hourly or every few days depending on my clinical rotation.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Before signing up for CS, my pad was always a place to stay for friends and friends of friends passing through town. I've been given shelter by amazing people all over the country. I've met rad people through CS in places where I/we didn't already have connections and subsequently was able to explore an area with new comrades.
Interests
Recharging by spending time outdoors, creeping up on wildlife in kayaks, seeing how many things my smarty-pants dog can learn, cruiser rides, making food, visiting the breweries around here, going to shows, playing music
We like to brainstorm then build things
James geeks out by making electronic music and mellows everyone out with his guitar skills,
I totally nerd out about veterinary pathology and disease-related stuff- I could look through a microscope all day. I try to contribute to planting things that are edible to us or wildlife. Taking out invasive species is cathartic.
Music, Movies, and Books
movies: Amelie, the Protector, Life is Beautiful, the Monster (Il Mostro)...many more...Planet Earth and Life of Mammals
books: The World Without Us, Song of the Dodo, Bukowski's, Hunter S Thompson, Jane Goodall, Gabriel Garcia Marquez...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
jumped out of a few planes (terrifying), studied endangered animals in the jungle, jumped off of high cliffs into water, perform surgery
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you how to shoot a blowgun, how to suture, and about flora and fauna native to North Carolina
James plays music and is always looking to collaborate
We can share our kitchen, beers, and staple items. We're happy to collaborate on meals but no pressure- we're busy and understand that you may be too.
What I Can Share with Hosts
We typically have:
-an extra bike around if you need transportation
-2 kayaks to lend out
-a big back yard and plenty of parking- feel free to camp
