Overview
About Me
Hi, my name is Anders and I live in Odense on the beautiful Island Fyn in the middle of Denmark. I work as an auditor and as such that requires a lot planning and attention to detail within the law. However, I try as much as I can to nurse the creative side of me - by reading books, watching films, doing loads of amateur photography AND most importantly travelling and meeting new people.
When I come back from a travel, I'm always more positive for the future, 'cause every time I come to the conclusion that there are more things that unite people than separate them. Yes, it sounds stupid - but it is true!
I love to learn about other cultures and listen to people's stories, their aspirations, worries and dreams.
July 2016: I was hosted by Thomas in Nantes for two nights. Wonderful experience touring the modernized harbour at night and having a game of petangue!
July 2016: I hosted Vincent and Anne-Sophie from Paris. We had a really fun time touring Odense and sharing stories over local beer at Gertrud's.
September 2016: I hosted Joel and his mother Linda. Although Joel didn't feel good on arrival and forced to stay in my house for the full 2 days, they were staying in Denmark, we enjoyed each other's company with a lot of stories to share. Linda and I toured Odense and in the evening we looked up on the Danish genealogy databases to find out more about her Danish ancestry - a very fun experience.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Love to meet new people - and learn about a new place from a local point of view!
Interests
I love photographing - there are endless opportunities of being creative! It's something I enjoy to do alone; it really sparks the creative side of me and it's fun to have control (or not!) over the whole proces from shooting to editing.
Travelling and meeting new people and places. Being surprised by unexpected beauty and friendliness, and comforted in the belief in the future!

Music, Movies, and Books
I love many kinds of music; however, while listening for myself I love alternative rock like Radiohead and Noir Desir, Post rock like Danish band Under Byen, Sigur Ros etc., trip-hop like Massive Attack, 2000s indie rock like White Stripes and Franz Ferdinand AND to sing along to Morrissey!
Books: I love very different books, but I have a weak spot for the dark, existential classics like Kafka, Dostoyevsky, Hermans, Camus. Crime and Punishment and The Stranger are my fav books. I've read tons of crime/horror books as well.
Movies: I'm a bit of nerd and love European Cinema - however I watch all kind of flicks. I like everything by Haneke, but also more fun stuff like Wes Andersson. David Lynch is also a winner!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
In 2006 I took the Transsibirian railway from Moscow to Beijing - and then on by train to Saigon. That was an amazing two months!
Teach, Learn, Share
I am quite interested in the local history where I live and would love to tell you a thing or two if you come by - maybe with a little guided tour!
What I Can Share with Hosts
Good spirits! Well, I'm pretty calm and would love to get to know you - I think that's fundamental to a good and fun surf!
