About Me

Hello, I´m Anders Hannevold. I´ve lived in Bergen most of my life, except when I studied piano in Oslo for some time. At the moment I am writing music for a theater. A lot of fun, and a lot of work. I always got time to meet and share a beer with new people though!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Sharing beliefs and thoughts with one another, and having a good time with new folks. I´m always happy to help out. Maybe I´ll use this for traveling abroad sometime as well.

Interests

Music is my ultimate interest. What my world revolves around. I guess you certainly could call me a music geek, well at least when it comes to classical music. If you ask me what the members of Pink Floyd are called I awkwardly cannot give you an answer, but ask me about Wagner or Gubaidulina and I will be happy to fill you in.

I'm a PADI rescue diver, although I hunt for food a lot while diving in Norway. Kamskjell/scallops, flyndre/flatfish and breiflabb/angler would be the common catch. To me there is nothing like a fresh raw scallop with a drop of soy sauce after a dive - the best kind of sashimi! I love to dive in tropical coral reefs as well, brimming with colorful life. One day I hope to go diving with whale sharks.

I enjoy good food and beautiful nature! I love pines, mountains, the sea, the moon and whale sharks.

Music, Movies, and Books

Roald Dahl got a lot of children's tales books - despite my age I love his work and how his own fantasy worlds is so logical while being so surreal at the same time. Hitchikers guide to the galaxy is another favorite of mine. Otherwise I have a tendency like many others to read criminal literature to pass time. That being said, I don't read books very often.

With movies I really like Akira Kurosawa. How his movies often reflects life rather than common villain we find in western movies that wants to destroy the world. Also he got samurai movies, which is win by default! 2 movies I recommend by him is "the hidden fortress" and more famous "7 samurai". For people who wants to learn norwegian culture I tend to recommend the move "the troll hunter", which I think is completely awesome. Just make sure you know a few norwegian troll folk tales first! Otherwise a superhero movie is always fun to watch, no matter how good it is.

The list of favorite music is so long I don´t know if I even wanna start. However I will say that I am into a lot of contemporary stuff besides old music. And jazz.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I played a concert in Chopins home in Poland on his 200th year anniversary! As the ultimate piano composer that was really big for me.

Teach, Learn, Share

I hope I can show you around, teach you about the place, maybe dish up with some food, share some thoughts and a beer and hopefully have a good time with you!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Pretty much the same as above minus the first part. If you got a piano I can play a little for you. Or teach.
