About Me

My name is Anders and I am a full-time Psychology student studying and living in my hometown of Fresno California. I am nearly finished with my BA, and plan on starting my Masters in Fall 2020. I have used Couchsurfing since summer 2016, and made many good friends with it and had tons of great experiences!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love meeting new people from different cultures and backgrounds. I thoroughly enjoyed staying at hostels and meeting people from all over the world, but I feel like there is something unique and special about experiencing a city with a local. Being a host to many people this last Spring and this Summer has increased my passion for Couchsurfing and it has made me want to stay with more hosts myself. I believe that Couchsurfers are a different kind of people in the sense that we tend to be more open to new experiences and have a passion for showing our world to others.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled over 1,000km (600 miles) to go to an EDM festival in the woods outside a little city in Finland. The energy there was incredible and one DJ, in particular, had the most positive and infectious energy I have ever seen.
I have hiked almost all of Yosemite's day trails, I still have Half Dome on the to do list.

Teach, Learn, Share

Language skills
English is my native language and I would be happy to help you with your English, whether you need help with grammar, spelling, or just want to learn some fun California slang.

Hiking
I love hiking and would be happy to show you around all of the awesome hiking spots near me and give you advice on equipment if you are looking to buy anything.

Food
I love cooking, eating out, and checking out local farmers markets. I would be happy to make some food for you, show you my favorite places to eat, and or show you the best farmers markets in town.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Food, again!
I can make you some awesome salads, eggs, burgers, or all three.
Helping out
I am great at organizing and cleaning things. I am happy to clean, organize, do yard work, or just about any other odd job you can think of.
