I grew up on an island. Being surrounded by the water and the wonders of our natural world inspired me to become an artist and explorer, sharing the intimate connection I have with the world with others through my art of cartography, or map-making.

My work relies on my ability to travel and see new places to gain perspective on the diversity of our planet. My interest is in the land, but also in the human element, how people relate to the land around them. I love sharing stories with people about their places and integrating that with my artwork.

In 2012 I made a giant map of my home, Fidalgo Island. I spent six months exploring, mapping, and detailing, then shared the work through public viewings and by selling prints and artwork at the farmers market.
