ABOUT ME

I'm a writer, traveler and film enthusiast. After having spent almost ten years working in administrative positions, I'm now trying hard to find a place in the world of creative writing. My short stories and articles have been published in several different magazines and journals. The most famous being Playboy Croatia (I didn't make the prestigious centerfold spot, but hey... it's still Playboy).

I like to think of myself as a creative and observant person with a random sense of humour. Although a bit on the quiet side, I do enjoy listening to others and communicating with people. When abroad, I like to learn about the location I'm exploring and absorb as much culture as possible. Other than that, I look forward to losing myself in a new part of the world and leaving myself open to any new discoveries or chance encounters that may happen.

Interests

For me, reading is as important as breathing air. I almost never leave home without something to read. Music, films and travelling are also essential to me. Not only do they teach me a great deal, but they fire up my imagination.

Music, Movies, and Books

When it comes to film, my favourite genres are independent and foreign cinema. Here are a few films I really like: Amores Perros, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Inception, Memento, The Fountain, Fight Club, The Raid, Sur mes Levres, Silver Linings Playbook, Infernal Affairs.

Independent/alternative rock is my favourite kind of music. These days I'm listening a lot to The National, Death Cab for Cutie, The Foals, Radiohead, Arcade Fire, The National, Interpol, Of Monsters and Men, Jarle Bernhoft. Also, I do enjoy listening to classical music and Jazz.

As for writers: Haruki Murakami, Carlos Luis Zafon, Romain Gary, Ivan Goncharov, Fyodor Dostoyevski, John Steinbeck are a few of the authors whose books I keep going back to.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiked up the Sudeten mountain, trudging through snow and carrying a backpack weighing 20kg+, to cross the Polish-Czech Republic border on foot.

In Djurdjevi Stupvi monastery (near Novi Pazar, Serbia) a monk and I laughed out loud and hard inside the church at a hysterical story he shared with me.
