About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Spread peace and see some neat stuff along the way!

ABOUT ME

I guess you could say I have somewhat of a hippie-esq view on life. I don't take things too seriously, learn from my achievements and mistakes, and find the silver lining in most people and situations. I don't drink or smoke, but that doesn't mean I don't like to have fun. I find the sober life much more fun than the drunk one :)

Violence scares the heck out of me, even if it is fake violence in tv shows or movies. For this reason, I am very much a pacifist.

Peace and love!

PHILOSOPHY

Be kind; everyone is fighting a hard battle.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Haven't had a chance to participate as a host. Small apartments with small couches just don't cut it, but now that I have my own place again, bring it on!

I did go on a solo trip for spring break in 2012 and had an absolute blast getting insider tips on what to do in each of the cities I stayed in. It was an excellent first experience!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with some very interesting people as I embarked on a 10 day historic homes tour of the southeastern US for spring break. The people and places CS puts you in contact with can really improve your experience in any city. My least favorite city (out of the 5 I traveled to for break) was the one that I paid for a hotel in. That also happened to be the city that inspired the whole trip. CS is a great way to travel and meet some very unique people!

Music, Movies, and Books

I don't watch a whole lot of tv, and very few movies, but my favorite shows are Breaking Bad, The League, and How I Met Your Mother.

Live acoustic music is my favorite, but I'll go see almost any live music. Dan Mangan, BNL, Oldies

I prefer reading scientific articles to books.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Every thing is amazing if you look at it right.

Moving to North Carolina without a job or a place to live was pretty amazing! Best decision I've ever made! If you stay here, I may elaborate. :)

Teach, Learn, Share

Don't all come running, but I can teach you Algebra! I can also take you on a nice hike in Raleigh, cook fairly well, and am really trying to like running. As a Realtor I can take you around to look at houses if that is of interest to you. Even if you're not looking to buy, looking at a house built in 1795 is pretty neat - or maybe that's just me.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A genuine interest in their lives. I love hearing about people from all walks of life. Everyone has something to share and something I can learn from. Sometimes simple tips, sometimes opinions that expand my already open mind even more, and sometimes I learn to just be myself and be free.

I guess what I can offer is conversation. Coffee and conversation in the morning or sitting around talking at night. I'd love to hear about your life, and maybe you'll learn something about yourself in the process!
