Overview
About Me
I'm a social worker with wanderlust who loves experiencing new things, immersing in new cultures (though vegetarianism limits culinary experimentation), and exploring new places. I can make friends with just about anyone in 2 minutes, and lived in a wonderfully diverse coed international student cooperative house during undergrad. I've been on many random road trips, cruises, and international adventures with strangers I'm pleased to now call good friends. Perhaps we will similarly cross paths?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Recommended to me by friends, as they know me to be a social being who enjoys meeting new people. Why stay at a hotel when you can meet up with and make new friends??
Interests
Quality film & documentaries, small venue shows, drinks at bars/pubs (not clubs), advocating for the underprivileged, random acts of kindness, painting, photography, meeting diverse new people, sharing good conversation, traveling off the beaten path, learning about new cultures, trying to learn languages.

Music, Movies, and Books
I appreciate almost all music, but can't get down with popular country. Favorite movies include Amelie, My Life Without Me, Life is Beautiful, American Beauty, His Girl Friday, and Fight Club.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Jumped out of an airplane in the Bay Area. Rafted in Yosemite. Climbed a pyramid in Southern Mexico. Swam with sting rays in Grand Cayman. Got lost at TateModern. Zip lined in Jamaica. Survived sharing a house with 19 guys in college, during which time I was responsible for grocery shopping. Won a Distinguished Humanitarian Service Award and 10k for my work with immigrant torture survivors. Shatteted my leg & ankle hiking in Cinque Terre. Grew a person.
Teach, Learn, Share
Languages! Endless stories of refugees' resilience and the beauty of the human spirit. Why I'm not proud to be an American (yet recognize my privilege). I also make great pancakes from scratch, and will even cook them up in fun shapes for you;)
