Hi, I'm Andi! I am a 33 year old female that left my job in the US to follow my dream of seeing Southeast Asia (we only get 10 vacation days a year - can't see much with that!). I am an energetic person that is always up for an adventure but also enjoy low key days now and then too. I love exploring new places with people but can always manage to entertain myself as well.

I'm new to couch surfing, but a number of my friends have surfed or hosted so I thought I would give it a try. I'm currently traveling through Malaysia and then heading off to Thailand.

I love meeting people and exploring new places. Having lived in New York City I realize that there is so much more to a city than just hopping on the double decker bus that stops at the tourist hot-spots (Times Square, Empire State Building, etc). It is all about getting to know the local culture. Small things like tips and stories from the locals, the family owned food stall that sells 1RM Roti or the off-the-beaten path jungle trek are what really make a place.

Secondarily is budget. I'm on a tight backpacker budget and would rather use some of the money I would have spent on a hostel on a making a home cooked meal or buying a local street food dinner for my host and myself.
