About Me

I hadn't left the country (aside from a family cruise and a bop on over to Mexico) until I was almost 21. That summer and fall, I managed to hit over 15 new countries. Ever since then, I've been absolutely hooked. My bucket list is about a million years long and I swear it gets longer every time I meet someone new.

When I'm not traveling, I'm at work, working out (I'm a certified yoga instructor), cuddling my dog, studying for the CFA exam in the summer, or eating pizza. Essentially, nothing special, but always planning my next trip.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've found the one of the best parts about traveling is the people that I meet and the stories I hear from them.
Chatting about similar experiences, travel related or otherwise, as well as hearing awe-inspiring stories that make me add yet another spot to my list! Up until now, I've always met other travelers and locals at hostels or dinner or tours or riding around on buses, etc. however I realized that Couchsurfing would be a great way to meet other people who share my love of travel!

Interests

I'm a certified yoga teacher, a big fan of hiking, and a microfinance geek. I have yet to try any food that I didn't like. I will go almost anywhere if there's going to be dogs there. I'm not a very good photographer, but that has never stopped me. I absolutely love swapping stories and learning about new places that others have loved!

Music, Movies, and Books

I will read/listen to/watch almost anything and keep an open mind! My taste is incredibly broad-but limited to mostly American things since I haven't been exposed to anything else. Hopefully that will change!

My favorite books are typically whatever I read most recently. This ranges from mindless romance novels to books on behavioral economics. Lately, most of my reading has been in the form of studying to be a Chartered Financial Analyst.

Music wise, I love almost anything except heavy metal and I'm just not a huge fan of EDM. I've been to Dirty Heads concerts, a Walk the Moon concerts, a Dierks Bentley concert, a Childish Gambino concert, an Iration concert, etc. etc. Basically, I'll listen to anything!

I tend to binge watch Netflix to avoid studying, so Stranger Things, Schitt's Creek, The Office, Game of Thrones (not Netflix, but so binge-worthy anyway), Shameless, Narcos- it's a long list!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Absolutely loved my hike up Concepcion, a volcano in Nicaragua. It took a little over 8 hours and my muscles were crying by the end (seriously, one of my last falls down the side, I debated just laying there forever) but it was one of my favorite experiences.

Teach, Learn, Share

I know a little bit of Spanish from my time in Guatemala, and I'd be happy to share some of the basics, but I'm definitely looking to learn a bit more of the language before I dub myself as "fluent"! I'm also a registered yoga instructor so I could teach you some poses or run through a short class.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories, recommendations, etc! I'm more than happy to help with basic household chores, as well. (I'm actually really good at vacuuming.)
