About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Helping my daughters discover the world. Helping others discover the world.
ABOUT ME
I am from Austria, born in the US, raised in Africa, travelled much in the East, lived a long time in Switzerland. So I love to travel and venture.
Used to work as manager in a big company but felt unhappy there; had my own startup for a while. Now back in austria and employee at a large motorcycle company..
PHILOSOPHY
Everybody needs one. Takes a lifetime to develop, at least. Slowly I am getting there.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I can help around here in Linz. Would love to give my couch more often but need to take care of my family's wishes.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Have been invited many times during my world trip (lasted about a year) and the world trip I did with my family and wish to return some of that generousity.
I am happy to meet interesting people and help young or venturous people to get along, get to Linz, Austria, Europe, the world.

Teach, Learn, Share
What I learned during my world trip, setting off alone and scared about it:
1. when you travel alone you will not be alone. I never met more people than when traveling alone.
2. gosh, is traveling easy, at least in Asia.
3. the world is stunningly beautiful
4. interesting people exist everywhere, even those I would normally shun, such as street bums, dwellers in a slum.
5. the poorer the people the nicer they often are
6. most people out there are amazingly poor. We do not even know what that terms means, we, here in the West
7. traveling is addictive
8. home is amazingly beautiful as well, when seen as a returning traveler. It is very good to have a base - culturally, socially, economically, spiritually.
9. traveling does not cost much necessarily - depending what you define as necessity. And traveling itself helps to question what is really necessary. Most things aren't.
