Hi, my name is Lika. I was born in Moldova and spent my childhood between Moldova, Ukraine and Russia. I'm a single and adventurous mom of two sons (Vlad, 15 y.o. and Kolia, 12 y.o.) and we've been travelling on and off since 2013.

I work as a private online English teacher and the kids don't go to school - they are worldschoolers and learn online and also from the world around them. Both kids are fluent in English.
I love dancing latino dance, especially bachata and some salsa, so I could show you some moves or maybe even go a party together!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I love the feeling of becoming a part of someone's life for a while, the feeling of community and sharing common interests. It's also a great way to learn about the culture and the country from the inside.

Interests

I love learning languages and speaking them. I'm fluent in Russian, English, Spanish and Czech and I can understand some Serbian, Slovak, Ukrainian and Polish, as well as Portuguese and Italian. I'm a certified English teacher, so I can teach you some English or Russian if you want ;-) Also we all are fond of board games, math, science, handicrafts, cooking, animals, gardening, camping, different cultures and much more! I love learning new things so I'd be happy to share something new and interesting with you.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lots of travelling with kids:
- around Thailand for two months in 2013 (with kids 1,5 and 4,5 y.o.)
- Europe trip for almost three months (Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Hungary, Italy) in 2014 (with kids 2 and 5 y.o.)
- Countless short-term trips to many places in and outside Russia
- Round-the-world trip, from July 2019 until March 2020, visiting 24 countries altogether
- 3 months in Russia by car in 2022
- India, Malaysia & Thailand trip in 2023
- Looking forward to new adventures in 2024!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm happy to provide a coach in my apartment for my guests (can sleep up to 2 people, but there's some space on tbe floor as well). Also, ll the usual stuff like toiletries, laundry, wifi and some basic food are also on the list.

In return, I expect respect and some contribution into our life, too - I believe that you're a responsible adult capable of talking care of yourself and I'll be more than happy if you could contribute in the form of helping us around the house, involving in an interesting chat or teaching us something new.

Please don't disturb me or my kids between 11 pm and 9 am without prior agreement. If you're requesting to stay with us, please mention it in your request or you might get denied.

What I Can Share with Hosts

* I am happy to share my experiences and talk about travels, ecology, volunteering projects and ideas. Homeschooling and teaching are also very interesting topics to discuss.
* I can cook some delicious Russian food.
* I can teach you some bachata moves and maybe even take you to a party (if you want).
